Saturday Song: by the artist: T.E.S.T. Slow Stitching Sunday. Stash Report.
Saturday Song: T.E.S.T.
I know this young man very well, yes I do. T.E.S.T. stands for Through Eternity Standing Tall. He bases his music on this Scripture:
He just released this album and I couldn't be more proud of him. If you know someone who is struggling in their faith, this music will touch their hearts. Just forward this link to them.
By the way, yes, I do like Christian rap....
:)
Slow Stitching Sunday
Today I worked on the Patchwork Pussy Cat - and finished her! She was stuffed, stitched up and is ready for my granddaughter to enjoy at Christmas!

Kate at Life In Pieces has motivated me to try and sew at least 15 minutes a day.
This week I managed to sew 4/7 days. I'm pleased because those days I sewed an average of an hour a day!
15 minutes stitching days/week = 4/7 days
15 minutes stitching days since July 29, 2018: 10/14 days
Success Rate = 71%

Thoughtful Tuesday. A Finished Flimsy and a Backpack. To Do Tuesday.

We are all busy, active people. How many times do we say/hear, "If only there were more hours in the day!" In our activity, how easy it is to choose to put Jesus on the back burner. "I'll get to my Bible reading as soon as the kids get to school....after class....just this one load of laundry....after everyone gets to bed..." and so on. I know I can't be the only guilty of this.
Which is why Gretchen Fleming's post, "4 Ways to Choose What is Better For Greater Peace" got me thinking and realizing she was so right. When we use the 4 points she made to put Christ and time with Him first, everything else seems to fall into place.
You will certainly be blessed and encouraged to see how discernment, wisdom, courage and fortitude all combine to help us to choose time with Jesus over all other distractions!
A Finished Flimsy!
Comfort Quilt #2
Remember the 14 yards of fabric my daughter gave me?
1) It's time to finish connecting the first row of my yo-yo quilt! ✔ Here it is!
Comfort Quilt #2
Remember the 14 yards of fabric my daughter gave me?
I finished the second quilt!
I've decided to call these quilts
"Comfort Quilts"
as I hope they will bring comfort
to the children and their parents
who find themselves patients at
El Paso Children's Hospital.

A Backpack
I took a class at my LQS on Annie's Got Your Back 2.0. It's finished and I love it!
A friend of mine wants to make it, so we are making one together. Because she has responsibilities that make leaving her home challenging, we are making it as a sew along via text messages!

Still Stitching #9. Happy Tones Quilt Pictures.
Still Stitching #9
Last
time we discussed this point not staring
at our loved ones’ life. We also talked
about focusing on our own lives
and issues. By doing so we can become so
much more emotionally and physically healthier!

So,
how did I begin to do this? For about a
year, I read Courage to Change every day and then joined a 12 Step Program for families and friends of alcoholics/drug addicts.
I began collecting tidbits of wisdom - tools you might say. When I found myself staring at my loved one's life, I "changed channels in my brain and began focusing on God and my own life thus giving myself the opportunity to grow stronger and wiser. I also gave myself the opportunity to heal.
Am I "there"? Do I have perfect peace?
No.
That will only be found in Heaven. But, I do have a more strength, hope and faith. I hope you find the same. :)

Thoughtful Tuesdays: Whose Voice?

During our walk with Christ, we have so many distractions, or voices as Lesley from Life in the Spacious Place stated. Technology, doubts, opinions of others can bombard us, but I like what Lesley said: we "have to be intentional about which voice we listen to."
She shares a beautiful song called Voice of Truth by Casting Crowns. Go on over there and be encouraged! I bet you'll be raising your hands in praise to the God Almighty - the true voice of truth!
Last Times List
Wow! It's been ages since I've even looked at a list for sewing. Between work, the stress of waiting and playing with grandbabies (such an awesome stress reliever), my sewing machine has been on a bit of a hiatus. Slow stitching is my therapy. Hmmmm....that would be a great sign!
1) Finish the Covered in Love squares. Done!
2) Finish a pillow I started last year. Done!
The fabric makes this pillow so pretty! I love it! Here is the piped edging (is that what it's called?)

3) Contact the organizations to give out the drainage bags. Not yet.
4) Make progress on my afghan - the Maria's
Blue Crayon Spring Granny Afghan Crochet. Done!
5) Do a fabric pull for the new Y-seams Tumbling
Blocks prototype with my
new Accuquilt Die. Not yet.
After look at the list, I guess I've done pretty good!
This week's list will be more attainable. I'm going to go with slow stitching projects as that's where my heart is right now.
This week's list
2. Finish up the yellow and blue flowers for my afghan - the Maria's Blue Crayon Spring Granny Afghan Crochet.
4. Sew a few more of these fun four patches inspired by Amanda Jean at Crazy Mom Quilts.

Philippians 4:19. Friday Finish - A Fun Journal Cover
Philippians 4:19
Scripture
Observation
Paul was so grateful for the gifts the Philippians sent! We discussed how important tithing is and I shared when we first started tithing roughly 30 years ago and another view on Philippians 4:18 here. Philippians 4:19 is our promise - God will supply all our NEEDS. The awesome part is that He will supply all our needs according to HIS riches and glory! Therefore, there is absolutely no way we can outgive God! Application
Honestly, it has took me a while to trust this verse. Many times God would nudge me to give at church or somewhere or even to someone else. I wouldn't out of fear that we would fall short at home.
However, as my faith grew, I did begin heeding His call and we never, ever fell short.
Prayer
Abba, thank You for the opportunities You have given me to bless others. You are amazing in that we never fell short. Forgive me, I pray, for the times I was disobedient. Now, I'm grateful that You have taught me to be not only a cheerful giver, but a faith-filled giver. Your patience with me has allowed me to grow in You.
Thank You, dear Abba! Amen.
Actually, it's for my granddaughter. There's so much I want to say to my grandchildren, but with the oldest being only 8 years old, they might not understand. So, I write them notes in these journals. One day they'll read them and perhaps understand. I've decided to print out photos we take on regular copy paper and include them in our journals.
Here are some more covers of my personal journals.
When I was first diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer (in Nov. 2014), a dear friend recommended I keep notes of doctor appointments, labs, personal notes, etc. This was my lifeline for a bit.

my new journal cover?
It was fun to make as I used my Accuquilt Fun Flower Die
and
practiced my applique skills.
Here are some more covers of my personal journals.
My personal journal
I used to use this
washi tape journal
for Bible Journaling....
I'm not an artist, but I try..... :)
Sometimes, when reading a book, I come upon life lessons. They go in here.

Thoughtful Tuesdays. Wedding Quilt Finish. To Do Tuesday.
Thoughtful Tuesdays
You will love this post, "Tell Shame You Have a Savior" from Lyli at Fuel for a Wildfire Faith! (Don't you just love that name?)
How many times does the defeated one attack us with shame by reminding us of past failures, hurts and mistakes? Well, Lyli has an answer to that in an easy to read post filled with verses that we can memorize and have victory over shame! I so encourage you to visit and strengthen your faith - and "Tell Shame You Have a Savior!" Can I get an "Amen"?
Wedding Quilt Finish
I couldn't believe I forgot to post the pictures for my sister's finished wedding quilt - the Pretzel Twist by Fons and Porter!
I love how the sun rays are shining on it - as if God Himself is smiling.
Stephanie, my LAQ, did an amazing job!
It was a perfect blend of the colors my sister asked for, her style and the curvy quilting complimented the angles perfectly! I never fail to be amazed at how beautiful Stephanie makes my quilts look!
