Thoughtful Tuesday. To Do Tuesday.

Thoughtful Tuesday
This post was written by Boma from The April Journal many month's ago.  I commented on it on March 4, 2018.  Boma responded with prophetic words.  Via a situation which completely broke my heart, my loved one has been on a good road for near two months.  Reminds me of the Scripture:

Emphasis on
ALL THINGS
and
GOD WORKS FOR THE GOOD.

In other words,
https://theplymothian.me/2016/01/13/romans-828-30-what-is-the-good/

Boma writes that the Canaanite mother in this Bible accounting  (Matthew 15:21-28) never stopped pleading for her daughter despite the judgement and discouragement around her.

Hence, even after 25 years, I will continue to pray for my loved one.  The anchor holds for me - and for you - my dear reader.

Here is the song writer's testimony and the story behind the song.

The anchor holds despite the ship being battered and the sails being torn.
Jesus is with us.
I promise.
The anchor holds.

Be like the Canaanite woman and keep faithfully pursuing God.
If at this point in your life you can't see yourself doing this, perhaps you can pray for such faith.  Or ask a friend to pray for you?
God will respond.
Keep your faith - even if it's as a mustard seed - keep your faith, dear one!

To Do Tuesday
Last Times's List
1) Make 1 or 2 more yo-yo flowers. This week's are so colorful!  ✔

2) Make some more progress on my my afghan.     I thought I lost a bunch of flowers and I found them!    That would have been a ton to make all over again!  I just need to make my green flowers now!  Whew!

3.   Sew a few more of fun four patches inspired by Amanda Jean at Crazy Mom Quilts while visiting with Dad.

4.  Make labels for the Construction quilts!  I made one.  I'm struggling to find a sweet poem/quote to put on the second label, so I've asked my daughter to help me.  She is quite talented with words.  :)

5.  Contact the organizations to give out the drainage bags

I also finished the Attic Windows quilt top for the El Paso's Children's Hospital!  My daughter is quilting it as I write this!
I love how the pattern is accent by the lighting!

Another one will soon be on its way to my daughter!  The story behind it is here if you'd like to read it!

This Week's Goals
1) Make 1 or 2 more yo-yo flowers.

2) Stitch up at least 1/2 of the green skein of yarn for my afghan.

3) Trim the four patches (inspired by Amanda Jean at Crazy Mom Quilts )I've made this week.  I've already made 100 of them!  Yea!

4)  Make labels for the baby quilts!

5)  Follow up with the organizations to give out the drainage bags

6) Work on my Grandmother's Flower Garden.

7) Finally make these pillowcases!

Future goals:
Work on my purple blocks for my RSC Challenge quilt from 2017.

Still Stitching #12 Part 2. Sewing School Class 1. Book Date.

Still Stitching #12 Part 2
Still Stitching #12 Part 1
As my faith grew in God, I began to seek Him out.  Thus began my venture into becoming a survivor.  These verses were – and are – instrumental to my growth.

I can tell you that Proverbs 3:5-6 was a tough one – trusting God after all that had happened to me.  Once I crossed that bridge, however, I started the road to becoming a thriver.

The journey to becoming a thriver literally took years and that’s fine.  To everything there is a season!

There were several pivotal moments, a few of which I’ll share with you.

One was when God asked me to tell Him that I trusted Him.  It’s one thing to believe it, but quite another to say it out loud.  I just could not do it.  It took several days of prayer as well as listening to praise and worship music.  Finally, during praise and worship at our church, I could say it!  Immediately, I felt freedom and strength flowing from my Abba Father.

Later on in my journey, I was faced with a particularly challenging situation, my “go to” reaction was to turn away from God completely.  During one such time, I heard my Father ask me, “So, what are you going to do?  Are you going to leave Me again?”  The following verses came to me.

My choice was made to follow God, no turning back.  Though I have been a Christian for nearly 33 years, my faith was finally sealed a mere 10 years ago.

I was free to move on.
To be continued.

Sewing School
I'm blessed that my grandbabies live a mere two minute drive away!  They've asked me if I would teach them Spanish and help them work on their sewing skills!  Well.....yes!

Here's our first completed project - a pot holder!  My grandson chose the fabric, cut it out, designed the placement, quilted the back and sewed it up!

Saturday's Song
Friend, are you in a storm?  Do you feel lost?  You are not alone.  Been there many times.  You. Are. Not. Alone.

I know that sometimes it's hard to understand the lyrics to songs, so here is a video with the lyrics!  I hope you enjoy them!

Our peace is in Jesus Christ alone.

These are the ones I worked this weekend!  How I love slow stitching!

Saturday's Song . Slow Stitching. Stash Report - Blessings Abound.

Saturday's Song
Today I'll be sharing a song in honor of my Dad.  He tells me to live life fully and make memories because "It's Later Than I Think"!

Just as our earthly fathers have hopes and dreams for us, how much more our heavenly Father?

We can trust Him.
We really can.

Slow Stitching
Today I finished crocheting the blue flowers for my Spring Granny Afghan!
The next couple of weeks, I'll be working on the green flowers.  I've notice I'm short a few flowers in certain colors, so crocheting those up will be next.
Here's what I have so far!

Stash Report
Several years ago, one of my grandchildren became very ill and we almost lost him.  El Paso Children's Hospital was instrumental in saving his life as well as improving his quality of life since then.  He is now a happy, active little boy!  Praise God!

I have always wanted to make baby quilts for the hospital as a thank you.  When My grandson went there by ambulance, there was not time to pace a bag, much less  a comforting quilt/afghan.  My daughter said it would be perfect to have a "non-hospital issued" quilt that would provide warmth and a touch of home.

When one of my friends gave me this amazing book, I knew I was on my way!
I made one quilt from it which (I'll be posting about later) and instantly realized why it's her "go to" book for quilts - not just baby quilts!  The directions are clear, concise and, most importantly, accurate!

So, I had the patterns for the quilt, but kept forgetting to buy fabric.  Baby fabric is not really a part of my stash....sigh.....

My daughter to the rescue!  She texted me a picture of color coordinated baby flannel and wondered if I could use it.  Could I ever!  It was 14 yards of fabric!
God has provided all I need to make the quilts for the babies!  His timing is perfect!

I also picked up 1/2 yard of what should be the last fabric I'll be purchasing for my yo-yo quilt - famous last words!
