Thoughtful Tuesday
This post was written by Boma from The April Journal many month's ago.  I commented on it on March 4, 2018.  Boma responded with prophetic words.  Via a situation which completely broke my heart, my loved one has been on a good road for near two months.  Reminds me of the Scripture:

Boma writes that the Canaanite mother in this Bible accounting  (Matthew 15:21-28) never stopped pleading for her daughter despite the judgement and discouragement around her.

Hence, even after 25 years, I will continue to pray for my loved one.  The anchor holds for me - and for you - my dear reader.

To Do Tuesday
Last Times's List 

1) Make 1 or 2 more yo-yo flowers. This week's are so colorful!  ✔  

2) Make some more progress on my my afghan.     I thought I lost a bunch of flowers and I found them!    That would have been a ton to make all over again!  I just need to make my green flowers now!  Whew!  ✔

3.   Sew a few more of fun four patches inspired by Amanda Jean at Crazy Mom Quilts while visiting with Dad.    ✔

4.  Make labels for the Construction quilts!  I made one.  I'm struggling to find a sweet poem/quote to put on the second label, so I've asked my daughter to help me.  She is quite talented with words.  :)

5.  Contact the organizations to give out the drainage bags. ✔

I also finished the Attic Windows quilt top for the El Paso's Children's Hospital!  My daughter is quilting it as I write this!  

 I love how the pattern is accent by the lighting!

This Week's Goals

1) Make 1 or 2 more yo-yo flowers. 

2) Stitch up at least 1/2 of the green skein of yarn for my afghan.

3) Trim the four patches (inspired by Amanda Jean at Crazy Mom Quilts )I've made this week.  I've already made 100 of them!  Yea!

4)  Make labels for the baby quilts!  

5)  Follow up with the organizations to give out the drainage bags. 

6) Work on my Grandmother's Flower Garden.  

7) Finally make these pillowcases!

Future goals:

Work on my purple blocks for my RSC Challenge quilt from 2017.

Observation

So, Paul is saying, be free from harshness, sternness or violence toward all.  I wonder if he is thinking of the two women who were quarreling?  

Application
Oh my!  In a past life I was so harsh and stern!  All that ugliness in me was simply a survival tool to hide the hurt and pain.  My attitude was, "I will hurt you before you hurt me."  
I can still fall back into that state, but not very often indeed!  It's a miracle of God that my spirit is now more gentle.  Praise Him for the slow, gentle work He achieves in our lives!

I wonder if our gentleness increases as we become increasingly aware that "the LORD is near?"  I believe so!  That is the only way I could be so drastically different!

Prayer
Oh LORD, thank You for this verse!  I truly believe that Your faithful presence in my life has slowly and gently peeled away my layers of harshness and sternness.  You have wrought in me a new Spirit!  Thank You!




Prayer Shawls
I attend a cancer support group it's called Cancer Care that meets in a church.  At the same time we are meeting, a wonderful group of ladies meet to crochet/knit prayer shawls.  Every first time attender of our group get to choose a prayer shawl for themselves!  I have decided to support this wonderful cause and here's the first shawl!

to this in less than a week!

My pattern is from The Crocheted Prayer Shawl Companion.  This book offers many different shawl patterns for all skill levels.  I used about 8 oz. of a Red Heart yarn from my stash and a "K" hook.  

I decided to use this yarn to make another one for my recently diagnosed friend. 

 It's a good beginning, don't you think?

My dear, you are not alone......

Slow Stitching
The weekend's slow stitching started on Friday for me!  I've made quite a bit of progress hand quilting this panel baby quilt.  Maybe 10 more minutes and I'm done!  Afterwards, I'll be machine stitching the borders, binding and off to it's new baby!













This quilt has been glue basted and is ready to be tie quilted.  Hopefully both quilts will be ready for binding by Monday!  

Stash Report
How exciting to finally be in the "black" for my yarn usage!  I finished and delivered Patrick's Strength to the drop off person!  Hopefully, he's received it this weekend!  I also used up some stash yarn to finish a donation prayer shawl!  I'll be sharing pics of that later this week!

Both the Panel Baby Quilt and Scrappy Squares Baby Quilt are well on their way to being finished this week so I should be in the black for fabric next week as well!

New Scrappy Project
I started another baby quilt!  This little baby might be a scrappy one - at least his quilt is!  I'm adding two more rows and then tie quilting it!  :)

As part of the process, I'm going to answer a few questions so that you can get to know me better!

If you could meet one quilting personality, who would it be?
I don't know a lot of the bigger names in quilting, but I would love to meet the lovely women I have blessed to meet since I've started this blog! 

Who inspired you to sew?
Two people - my aunt and my daughter.  When I was a young teen, my aunt made me a beautiful green dress.  I enjoyed every step of the process!

Later, when my daughter started sewing, I decided to jump in with both feet so that we would have even more to share!  

What do you like to do when quilting?
I binge watch Netflix series or listen to Postcasts.  When the going gets tough, I listen to music.  Every night, though, I call my dad.  I've learned so much about his life as I play in me sewing studio.  It's like he's sitting in my rocker keeping me company!  

Do you have a favorite snack while quilting?
Not really, but I do drink iced water or iced coffee.  

Do you look for quilts when watching movies?
Ha!  There's so much to do when watching TV!  I'm usually crocheting, hand sewing, responding to comments and emails, commenting on other blogs and posting on Instagram!  I try to limit my cruising the net time as I can lose track of time.  

Which comes first, fabric or pattern?
For me, it's usally the pattern.  My daughter finds great quilts for us to make.  I also enjoy picking my son's brain for quilts/projects he would like to have!

What is your favorite finish?
By far, my favorite finish is my 2015 $7.50 BOM quilt.  I made it while undergoing chemotherapy for Triple Negative Breast Cancer and presented it as a gift to my husband.  I wanted to thank him for the wonderful care he gave me throughout our journey.  

Quilt by hand or machine?
I really prefer to send my larger quilts to Stephanie and the smaller ones to my daughter.  Lately, I have quilted four pieces, three by machine for my "grand-doggy, Marley,  

and I'm currently hand quilting a baby quilt.  

Favorite color?
Yellow!  When I make a quilt, I love bright, cheerful colors like the ones I used in my Scrappy Sampler!

Favorite notion?
I collect pretty and unusual seam rippers.  If I have to rip, it will be with a fun tool!  :)

Do you work on one quilt at a time or many?
I used to work on a different quilt each day of the week.  I'm learning that for me, it's better to work on one quilt at a time.  I do try to have a day for my BOM blocks and charity blocks.  I slow the pace down on the weekends with slow stitching - hand sewing, crocheting and embroidery.

My current crochet project is for a young man who is fighting for his life as we speak:  Patrick.  Here is the progress on
