Wednesday's Word and Wrap Ups. Pressing On.

Wednesday's Word
Many years ago, my family lived in Okinawa, Japan.  One of the missionaries, Majetta Morris, shared this with me:  "There is no safer place to be than waiting on the will of God."
I cannot tell you how many times her words from so many years ago have blessed, strengthened and encouraged me.  Thank you, Majetta.  Thank you, LORD, for sending her into my life!

Wednesday Wrap Ups
I have a ton of UFO's (unfinished projects) that are taking up too much space in my studio, not to mention by brain.  I've decided to challenge myself to finish one a week - two weeks at the most.  These are small projects that just need a bit of time.  I would also like to finish them using my stash only.

Here are my first two projects:
This place mat was started at least 5 years ago and is on my To Do Tuesday list for this week.

I am turning this "accidental" orphan block into another living room pillow!

It was a $7.50 block, but it came out too small.  I decided to quilt the top, so it should done next week as well.

Pressing On
Last week's goals were:
1.  Make 1-2 more Morning Glory Blocks. X
2.  Stitch up a hand pieced block. ✔
3.  Make progress on the latest prayer shawl. X

This week's goals are:
1.  Visit Daddy and Mama.
2.  Fix Block 5 from last week - thank you for
    your comment, Donna!
3.  Finish up the Fireman Place Mat.
4.  Finish quilting the new living room pillow.

Your comments are so appreciated!  I read each one and will respond by email to you!  :)

Monday's Strength. Book Dating. Pressing On!

Monday's Strength

I picked up this lesson from Jana Alcorn's book, Don't Throw in the Towel, Hope Again.  She pointed out that perhaps by Hezikiah turning to the wall, he was turning away from distractions.  Let us prayerfully turn into our wall and away from whatever may be distracting us from our precious LORD's voice.  Then, after meeting with the Source of our strength, we can courageously fight the good fight (1 Timothy 6:12).

Pressing On!

I press on toward the goal...Philippians 3:14a
Last week was pretty successful!
1.  Finish these two Christmas Pillows! ✔

2.  Finish two matching machine embroidered mug rugs. I have so much to share!  I've gotten hooked on machine embroidery!
3.  Finish one crocheted dishcloth.  I finished two!

4.  Make progress on an afghan for a special lady.

Here are my weekly goals for this week!

1.  Stitch up some more squares for my Scrappy Four Patch!  Here's some I made during my blogging break!

2.  Prep kits for my BOMs and for a Valentines' table topper.
3.  Finish one crocheted dishcloth.
4.  Make progress on an afghan for a special lady.
5.  Have you heard about American Patchwork's UFO Challenge 2019?  I joined up with two lists:  one for crochet and one for quilting. This month I'll be working on my Quilty 365 quilt  which will probably take 2 months to finish and my rainbow tablecloth
6.  On Sundays I Slow Stitch - hand sew.  For now, I'm working on my GFG.  Kathy at Kathy's Quilts has a Slow Sunday Stitching link up that is quite motivating!

Monday's Strength. Book Dating. Pressing On!

Hello There!
I hope you all have a wonderful 2019!  There will be some changes here that I hope will bless you!  I'm also hoping they will help me "work smarter, not harder!"  Take good care and Happy New Year!

Monday's Strength.
Like I said in my last post, let us go forth into 2019 with the LORD's joy, confidence, faith, trust and hope!  Perhaps if we remember this Word, we will be better equipped to do just that!

Doing Busy Better: Enjoying God's Gifts of Work and Rest
Doing Busy Better by Glynnis Whitwer was at first a disappointment, but I'm so glad I stuck with it!  There are those books that take a bit to capture our hearts and minds.

She's In a Better Place (The Fairlawn Series Book 3) by [Hunt, Angela]
As for audio books, I've enjoyed listening to Angela Hunt's Fairlawn Series!  I'm on the fourth and final book, She's in a Better Place

Six Day Hero, the Hb

Next up will be:  Six Day Hero, the Hb by Tamara Stein.

I've fallen off my reading wagon and am eager to enjoy the ride again.

4.  Make progress on an afghan for a special lady.

Instead of a prayer shawl, I'm making her an afghan.  She and her three young daughters lost their husband/father three years ago to brain cancer.  She is now fighting breast cancer.  I'm hoping this afghan will be large enough for her and her daughters to snuggle under.

That's it, folks!  It's nice to end the year with plans for a great future!
