Monday's Strength: Psalm 143:8. Machine Embroidery: Xmas! Book Date.

Monday's Strength

Yesterday I visited  Peabea’s link up party at Sunday Scripture Blessings @ Peabea's Scribble Pad.  This verse at Cut Off in the Kenweenaw spoke to my heart.  What a lovely daily morning prayer!  The King James Version is even more beautiful!
8Cause me to hear Thy lovingkindness in the morning;
for in Thee do I trust:
cause me to know the way wherein I should walk;
for I lift up my soul unto Thee.
Ps.. 143:8 KVJ
Blessings to you!

Machine Embroidery:  Xmas!
After a long hiatus, I set up my embroidery machine so that I could stitch up a dish towel and some Christmas tree decorations.
Even the best laid plans....
After a “bit” of a review, this is my result:

This is pre-finishing.  I still need to trim the threads and wash away the stabilizer.  The full ornament looks a bit more complicated than I’m ready to commit to, but this simplified one is also quite pretty.
I used a white fabric with glitter on it.  My LQS carries it and I’ve used it quite successfully in various machine embroidery projects.
I'm be attaching a pretty Christmas tree ornament hanger and maybe, if I'm really abmbitious, will make little Chirstmas gift bags for each ornament.

This book was a definite 5 star read!  One of my favorite genres is historical fiction.  However, Lynn Austin does a fabulous job of intergrating uplifting and hopeful Scriptures that definitely apply to these strange times were in.  I definitely recommend Until We Reach Home Again by Lynn Austin!

  1. I love that piece of embroidery, it is gorgeous. Hope the binding goes onto the quilt, the last step to satisfaction. I've just completed putting the binding on two to give away to two young girls. I heard The Library Book is worth reading and put it on my wish list at the library but haven't done anything more - yet!

  2. A nice mix of books! I keep forgetting to read Susan Orlean's The Library Book! It's kind of a forgettable title, I guess, especially since I work in a library. You're so organized with your goals! I didn't even get around to making my to-do list for the week yesterday.

  5. Your ornament looks nice. Simple always works with my skills! I try to make ornaments for my four grands. I used to do counted cross stitch or even 3D ones. Last year I did embroidered ones with metallic thread. I’m on the hunt for new designs — curious minds want to know where did you get this one? Happy quilting.
