Monday's Strength. My Bella Box. Book Date. Pressing On.

Monday's Strength
This week’s post will be a bit different. Mary from Hill Country Quilter I had a question about the Box of Hope I mentioned in last week’s post, so here’s a mini tutorial on how to make one along with my verse of the week.
A dear friend gave me the box numerous years ago. She decorated it with yellow (my favorite color) origami paper and painted it with a clear coat. I love the little yellow handle as evidenced by the wear on it!
To make your own, you will need
  • your favorite Bible
  • washi tape
  • small stickers
  • a writing instrument
  • whatever paper you chose to use – I chose 3”X5” lined notecards.
  • a container to hold your verses
As you can see, except for the pen and my Bible, everything fits right in the box!

Are you ready for the exciting part! You get to begin reading your Bible wherever you like. Lately, I’ve been reading the book of Psalms. You will eventually read a verse that “speaks” to you. Stop. Read that section again asking God what this verse’s significance is to you for this day.

Use the washi tape to make a border for your card, and then write the verse with its reference. I add stickers to my liking and a small row of washi tape at the bottom. Finally, I add the date on the back. If I use it on my blog, I add that date as well and then it goes propped next to the lamp on my desk until the following week.
There you have it! I would love to see if you make a Box of Hope!  Please add your link to the comments if you do!

Now, here's the verse for this week:  Isaiah 43:1!

He is always with us.  If we feel like we are drowning, He is holding us up.
If we are feeling the flame of pain, we will not be burned.
His healing touch cools our hurts.
We can draw strength from this knowledge.

My Bella Box

Let me start off by saying that I am not compensated for any products I write about.  I simply share what I love!  That said, let’s move on.

My daughter is very passionate about all things Kimberbell – a sewing and machine embroidery design company.  They have these marvelous boxes called “Bella Boxes” which include the supplies and instruction sheets to make several projects!  All you provide is your stabilizer and thread.  When my daughter showed me her Winter Box, I was sold!  So when their Spring 2020 Bella Box came out, I jumped on the band wagon and purchased one!

Here is a YouTube video of the Bella Box reveal!

So, this week I’m planning to make my first project from this box!  It will be the Let's Get Ready to Bumble Tea Towel! It comes with the fabric, vinyl, and buttons - eveything but the stablizer and thread!  Amazing!

What's so cool about this is that I have a disc with all the embroidery designs, so this could be made in a variety of colors!  We can choose our tea towel, fabric and thread to match any color scheme.  It could even be embroidered on matching pot holders!  We are limited only by our imaginations!

Hopefully, I'll have a cool finish to show you soon!

Oh, are you ready to fall in love?  Book will steal your heart.  I always hated putting this book down and eagerly picked it up to read it as time allowed. I was eager to discover what the astonishing thing was! When I did, I was surprised, happy and blessed. Boo is a wonderful narrator and I will miss her so much.  This book is well worth reading.

  2. Here in Australia Bella Box is a makeup box. I've been subscribed for a while, but I haven't even opened the last few so it is probably time to stop!

Enjoy your week, and your project!

  5. Hello! That box of goodies looks like fun. I do some machine embroidery now and then, but I don't have a disk reader for a CD or even a DVD. I am really looking forward to seeing your tea-towel! Thanks so much for linking up this week. ~smile~ Roseanne
