I finished the baby quilt!
Yea!
I like the scrappy binding, but....I think the dark brown with pink dots may have looked better.....but it's filled with love! It will soon have it's label and be off to it's baby! :)

Philippians 1:10 (Part 2)
Scripture:
Observation:
According
to Webster’s
discernment is:
: the quality of being able to graps and comprehend what is obscure: skill in discerning
However, this
definition also caught my eye and gave me pause….
dis·cern·ment
noun
1.
the ability to judge
well.
"an astonishing
lack of discernment"
2.
(in Christian
contexts) perception in the absence of judgment with a view to obtaining
spiritual direction and understanding.
noun
Therefore,
Paul is praying for the Philippians to
1) be able to grasp
and understand what is obscure,
2) to have perception
without judgment
WITH A VIEW TO
OBTAIN SPIRITUAL DIRECTION AND UNDERSTANDING.

Application:
How
many times have you or I wondered
about
God’s will for our lives?
about
a seemingly incomprehensible verse?
about
a painful event in our lives?
about
a simple coincidence?
about
something someone told us?
That
is where discernment comes in:
The
ability to grasp and understand what
is obscure,
not
to judge,
but
think and pray about issues and events
seeking
God’s direction and understanding.
Then
we can discern
what
is best,
what
is God’s will for our lives,
what that verse means for us today – and why God has placed it on our
hearts,
why that painful even occurred in our lives
- and even reach a point of
forgiving
understand
that the coincidence wasn’t a coincidence at all,
but
a God wink
understand
why someone told us what they did
and
how it’s relevant (or not) to our lives!
As
our love abounds more and more in knowledge, insight and discernment in Christ,
our
hearts grow in
wisdom,
tenderness,
understanding,
humility,
forgiveness,
compassion,
to
be one day
fully
accepting of our own sin being covered by the blood of Jesus,
thus
making us
pure
and blameless on the day of Christ.
It
takes all of these and much more I’m sure, to fully accept forgiveness, grace
and mercy. But once we do, we are free!
We
are free to
understand
with compassion and forgive those who have hurt us.
We
are free!

Prayer
9 And this is my prayer:
that your love may
abound more and more
in knowledge
and depth of
insight,
10 so that you may be
able to discern
what is best
and may be pure and
blameless
for the day of
Christ,
Dear Friends, This is my truth.
Dear Friends, This is my truth.
Your baby quilt is beautiful. I love the pale pinks and the browns together. I think you used just enough brown so that it doesn't overwhelm the pinks and the "babyness" of the quilt.
