Observation
Before we present our requests to God, we should have an attitude of thanksgiving...interesting.
Application
I've developed the habit of begining prayer with praise and thanksgiving, but I didn't realize the implications of that.  For me, it means, 

- we know that God will answer; 
- before we even present our requests or receive our answer, we are thankful.  

This must mean we are trusting God with His will.

Wow....I never really saw it this way until now.  

God is good all the time.
All the time, God is good.

Prayer

Oh my LORD,  thank You for this revelation!  I am so blessed and encouraged on how You have grown me spiritually, emotionally and in all ways!  I'm humbled, grateful and receiving cuddles from You, my Abba, right now!  Thank You, Abba!  Thank You!

RSC Catching Up With Blue!
Granted, it's a little late in the year, but I realized that I can keep up with my RSC colors very easily!  Because I'm making strip blocks, they are now my Leader Ender project!   As the squares pile up, my excitement is growing!  This will be a colorful, beautiful quilt/quilts!  So exciting!

I'm reading Own It! by Michael and Heyley Di Marco.  So far it's o.k.  It's bringing up some good points about owning our own faith vs. renting or borrowing it.  I can see how in the past, I was definitely renting my faith.  Now that I'm actually owning it, my faith is stronger.  Consequently, I am stronger.

I made eight 12.5"  scrappy Crafty Cop Blocks* which used about 3/4 of a yard.  

I figured this yardage by using the "Quilting Calc" app by Robert Kaufman - which I use all the time! I am prepping a tutorial for this fabulous app for next week!

Observation
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  Philippians 4:6

Two absolutes:  anything and every situation.
Two attitudes:  anxious, thanksgiving.
One action:  present your requests to God.

Application
Again, I have to remind myself that Paul is writing these words as he sits in prison waiting to see if he will live or die.

Yet he writes, "Do not be anxious about anything."  Delaying getting medical tests done and then waited for the results were certainly anxious times for me.  How did Paul achieve this faith - being anxious for nothing?  How do people today achieve this level of anxiety free living?  

I know that I want to live this way.  So, to prepare for my next follow up with the oncologist and the tests required to monitor my status, I need to make a change.  

Remember these Alphabetical Scripture Cards?  I wrote a tutorial for my version.


It's time to implement them again so that I'll be ready for the next time I'm anxious.  I need my Sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17) to fight this battle against anxiety.

Not only that, we need to believe God's Word - not just in our heads, but in our hearts.  

Prayer
Lord, thank You for reminding me about these Scripture Cards.  As I reread my own words, I realized how much they helped me!  Father, help all of us to face each situation with courage, faith and hope which is based on You.  Let us not lose one more minute to anxiety!  Thank You, LORD, for Paul's example!  I love You, Abba!

Another prayer shawl completed means someone else gets a blessing plus I get to take off 7 more ounces of yarn from my stash!  
It finished at 51" and here is a pattern for it.

Can you tell that all my exams went well?
Mammo: "normal and benign"
Bone Density:  "normal" - even after spending 2015 and most of 2016 in bed/a wheelchair!
Colonoscopy: I'm on the 10 year plan!
Survivors' Guilt:  Thanks to the encouragement from my friends in my Cancer Care Group (most who are dealing with incurable cancer, metastasis, recurrences or new diagnosis) , my family and friends, I am living life to the fullest!  

I see my oncologist this month and have a full physical next month.  For some reason, the imaging center I went to gave me the reports and CDs early!  :)

Slow Stitching + a Finish
I've been doing quite a bit of slow stitching in the form of binding the Panel Baby Quilt! The recipient was so grateful that he almost made me cry!
I can't believe I forgot to take a picture of the finished quilt!  

Here it is with the borders:

I machine quilted the borders and hand quilted the bears.  

I'm hoping to make even more progress on Prayer Shawl #2.  It's already about 48" long!

By the way, I saw this pattern on Fiber Flux.  Her directions are fabulous!  It's really interesting to see how different it looks with a bulkier yarn!  

And here I thought I was so original!  

I'm also hoping I can make some progress on this Oldie But Goodie - the Around the House Stitching Club mini by Wild Olive!
