Hello There,

Happy Easter!  The tomb is empty!  

He is risen indeed!  

Praise God!

How I've missed you all!  Unexpected events popped up which took over our lives for a bit.  Now, thankfully,  everyone is fine and we are all adjusting to a new normal.

One of our adjustments is a low-fat diet - which I'm loving!  Full disclosure:  I do treat myself to the occasional donut from Krispy Kreme when I visit my parents!

Another change is that I have dived a bit more into  scrapbooking planning with the Happy Planners.  It's been fun sharing memories as well as recording new events with my family.  I'm also enjoying playing with paper and stickers.  You can see the fun I'm having on my Instagram account!

Yet another change my leap into a new computer using Windows 10.  Yikes!  I'm learning from the best - my hubby.  Thankfully, he can answer many of my questions!

On more change is two new additions to my sewing room:  a Bernina 790 and Bernina 480!  

The learning curve, I had a 350, is not too bad, more oblique than vertical.  Our local quilt shop, Be Sew Creative, offers not only mastery classes for their machines, but also sewing and embroidery classes - all via Zoom!  Another source of support for me is my daughter who has a Bernina 880 and is a fabulous teacher!  

I'm looking forward to catching up with all of you and rejoining Bloglandia!

Saturday's Song:  Only Jesus

Like many of you, we've lost loved ones and friends to COVID, cancer and tragic circumstances.  I heard this song and thought how true these lyrics are:

And I, I've only got one life to live

I'll let very second point to Him

Only Jesus

And I,

I don't want to leave a legacy

I don't care if they remember me,

Only Jesus

How true.  Many times, we wonder, "Who will I leave my home to?  Who will I leave my jewelry to?" 

It doesn't matter, really it doesn't.  

Let's leave a legacy of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Friend.  

Isn't that all that really matters?

Isn't Jesus really the only name we need to remember? that our defendants need to remember?

Prayer Shawls

I felt lead by the Holy Spirit to make shawls for two of the mothers sons passed away - one to COVID, one to tragic circumstances. 

In this time where it's difficult to comfort our loved ones in person, maybe a simple shawl can provide a hug, a comfort, in such difficult times.  

God is so good to lead us to find ways to comfort others with the comfort we have received from Him.  (2 Corinthians 1:4)

Slow Stitching

Much of my Slow Stitching has been in the form of these prayer shawls, but I do have several projects to bind.  Currently, I'm binding a quilt for my husband.  It's called "Chico's Quilt".  Look closely at the the print on the fabric - do you see the mischievous dog?  That's our Chico!

Be Sew Creative carries many "three yard quilt patterns" that are easy to make.  This one is called Heartland.  Unfortunately, I can't give you the name of the focus fabric as the selvedges have been stitched into my crocheted rug!

Book Date

Those of you who have been through chemotherapy know that chemo brain is a real occurrence.  I struggled for at least 2 years to comprehend what I was reading.  I decided to participate in Kathryn's link up, "It's Monday!  What Are You Reading?" at The Book Date, I slowly but surely started enjoying reading books again!  

Here are a few books I've read since January:

I enjoyed each and every one of them - they were all at least four stars for me.  The last few pages of Madeleine leave much for the reader to ponder.  For the first time after reading a work of fiction, I am completing the Study Guide for Snow on the Tulips, Book 1 of the Women of Courage series.  

I've realized I can successfully juggle two books, sometimes three:  an audio book, an e-book and a hard copy book.  For now, I'm reading Daisies Are Forever, the second book in the Women of Courage series as well as listening to Great Expectations by Charles Dickens.
