Saturday's Song: Glorious Unfolding Part 1. Slow Stitching: Binding St. Patrick's Day Topper. Stash Report. Book Date.

Saturday's Song: Glorious Unfolding Part 1

I've featured this song before yet I've felt compelled to share it again.  In fact, I will be sharing a mini series based on Glorious Unfolding by Steven Curtis Chapman.

Lay your head down tonight
Take a rest from the fight
Don't try to figure it out
Just listen to what I'm whispering to your heart
'Cause I know this is not
Anything like you thought
The story of your life was gonna be
And it feels like the end has started closing in on you
But it's just not true
There's so much of the story that's still yet to unfold
                             - Glorious Unfolding

Is it time for you to take a rest from the fight?  to stop carrying your burden and give it to God?

Perhaps the situation you're in is indeed one you thought you'd never be in.  You never thought your life would be like this.  And indeed, it feels like the end.
But that's just not true.

Chapman's advice is wise indeed:  let's stop trying to figure out the situation or even to manipulate the situation.  Instead let's just listen to what God is whispering to our hearts and TRUST HIM.
It can be difficult...excruciating.
But to God be the glory, He is gives us the victory!
I implore you:  Just, rest from the fight.
Listen to what God is whispering to your heart, trust Him and know that the rest of your story has yet to unfold.
Take refuge in Him.
Believe me, though it may take some time, you will find peace.  Won't you give Him a chance?

Blessings to you, my dear reader.

Slow Stitching

So, today I'll be binding my little table topper!

The pattern is on the We All Sew blog.  I was thinking this could be made in all kinds of colors for various seasons!  A great scrap buster!

These tea towels can now come out of hiding!   Perhaps you remember the funny story about the Namaste one?
Last week I gave this set to my daughter as one of her birthday presents!  I'm glad I can finally share them!

Stash Report 4/17/21

I need to confess something:  I'm terrible at math!  I used to struggle so much with trying to be accurate with my stash report until I found this post by Jeni Baker on her blog, In Color Order blog by Jeni's Baker!  She provided an Excel download which I tweaked a bit and now, happily, I can easily track my yarn and fabric usage/purchases!  She also offers a fabulous method for recording scrap usage as well!  Thank you, Jeni!

Here's my fabric numbers:

And my yarn numbers:
I can hardly wait to finish my wine colored afghan to get my numbers looking better!

Book Date

I finished Daisies Are Forever and already miss the characters.  I highly recommend this "Women of Courage" series by Liz Tolsma.

Pip is still keeping me company as I listen to his story during the week.

A reader had commented that this book was intriguing and she wasn't kidding!  I'm loving it!

Your comments are so appreciated!
I read each one and will respond by email to you! :)

  1. Thank you for this post! I actually need these words right now. Some unexpected changes in our life did have me feeling sad and the way I envisioned our future is different than what is now happening.
