Saturday's Song. Slow Stitching. Stash Report filled with pics! :)

Saturday's Song
Sometimes we just need a song that talks about being free, joyful and silly.  This one is it, for sure!  I love the part where it says, "Sing till the back row hears you"!  I have a terrible voice, but I can't help by sing my heart out during praise and worship!

I hope this video puts a smile on your face!  :)

Slow Stitching
Somewhere in the Internet World I saw a challenge that intrigued me.  It was to knit (in my case, crochet) a dishcloth a week.  Wow! What a stash buster that would be - plus maybe the would serve as Christmas gifts?  I decided my yarn numbers needed to go down.

Plus, I have too much "stuff" in my craft studio - it feels small....

So, here are my first 7 dishcloths!  I'm using a white cone of Sugar and Cream dishcloth yarn combined with nylon netting that is commonly used in making tutus.

I made this simple Granny Square dishcloth just because.

So, I guess I'll be crocheting today!   I did knit one dishcloth using this pattern.  Maybe I'll try that.....

Stash Report.
I've bought so much fabric since my last post that I'll simply post my chart with the beautiful pictures following.  Sigh....in the red, in the red....

Thank goodness I finished a prayer shawl and some dishcloths or else my numbers would be horrid!
I hope you enjoy scrolling through my purchases.  Most of my fabric purchases were 1/4 yard cuts for my yo-yo quilt!

Yes, I've fallen hard for Kaffe Fassett!

A friend gifted me this scrap - enough to make 8 yo-yos!  I need only 6 to make a flower!

This fabric (below) was only supposed to be a yard purchase, but then one of my favorite sales clerk mentioned that it would make a pretty backing!  Sigh...at 40% off, I was a goner!
My final two additions to yo-yos!

I also added to my my black and white quilt stash....

Many of my purchases were made while on vacation in San Antonio.  Creations, a mega qult shop, is a stone's throw away!  I also support my LQS, now called Bee Sew Creative!

Oh!  Let's not forget my yarn purchases!
I went back to Micheal's and bought the rest of these reduced babies:
I hope you'll visit these link ups!

    1. Yes....I find it hard to pass up brightly colored fabrics. I started an Attic Windows quilt that I should finish this week (6/11), so hopefully that will help my numbers. Either way, I'm enjoying petting the colorful fabrics! :)

  4. I need to get on the bandwagon and use up some of my fabric and fiber stash. You're a smart cookie to start making Christmas gifts early.

  5. I usually make that knitted dish cloth - the granny's favorite pattern. So easy. I might have to try a granny square in crochet to change things up a bit. I have a cone of sugar and cream neutral that has yet to be used.

    1. How awesome that you knit AND crochet! I am really liking crocheting with the cone mixed with the netting! I really prefer the texture of knit, though.....

  8. I saw washcloth patterns year before last and had to make some and now have several patterns. Love to use them made with the cotton yarn. I also made some soap and was going to sell in my shop on Etsy but never have. I want to make the lye soap, but so far haven't the nerve. Only done melt and pour but love that I can fragrance them like I want. Very nice the gifting of material for yo yo's. Thanks for sharing at Sunday Scripture Blessings.

  9. Your new fabrics for your collection are beautiful. They will make great yo-yos. Great plan for making dishcloths, too. I started saving fabric selvages, cut 1" wide, and am crocheting them into a rag rug with a size N hook. That song made me smile after a difficult day. Thank you.
