Saturday's Song: Tell Your Heart To Beat Again Stash Report.

Saturday's Song:  Tell Your Heart To Beat Again
November 26, 2014.
"You have a tumor in your breast.  It's really deep in there.  You need a good surgeon because this type of tumor cannot be handled by just any surgeon."

My heart stopped beating for a season.

November 13, 2015.
After 6 months of chemotherapy and 42 days of radiation, I reached the last day of treatment!
As I drove home, I erroneously believed I would immediately return to the person I was before.

It's been 2 1/2 years and I still live with the effects of chemotherapy.  I told my daughter one day, "I just want the old me, to be normal again."
She wisely said, "You are normal, this is your normal - you're alive."
I stopped in my tracks!  Praise God!  I'm alive!  Furthermore, I'm getting stronger every day.

July 17, 2018.  My heart is beating again....I guess it's been beating for some time.

Here's the story behind the song.

Are you going through cancer?
Are you going through a trial?
Are you heartbroken?
Has your heart stopped beating?

Your heart will beat again.
You will thrive again.
You will appreciate life more than ever before.
Tell You Heart To Beat Again.

Slow Stitching
My dear readers, please be careful when cutting fabric with a rotary cutter.  This week I cut my finger pretty badly - 1/2" long, about 1/4" deep.  I decided not to go to the hospital choosing instead to treat at home.  After a phone consult with my surgeon, (I called him because I cut on the same side as my ancillary node dissection and we have to be careful with that side.), he was pleased with how we're treating it, though he felt I should have had stitches. Please be careful, my friends.

Consequently, there's not a lot going in the stitching department.  I can, however, type with both hands now!  :)

I did make these yo-yo's
and embroider a bit.  Still Stitching continues to give me time to rest in Him and remember His Word and lessons.

Don't you think this yarn would be a beautiful shawl/scarf?  At $1.47 a skein, I had to pick it up!

Saturday's Song. Slow Stitching. Stash Report filled with pics! :)

Saturday's Song
Sometimes we just need a song that talks about being free, joyful and silly.  This one is it, for sure!  I love the part where it says, "Sing till the back row hears you"!  I have a terrible voice, but I can't help by sing my heart out during praise and worship!

I hope this video puts a smile on your face!  :)

Slow Stitching
Somewhere in the Internet World I saw a challenge that intrigued me.  It was to knit (in my case, crochet) a dishcloth a week.  Wow! What a stash buster that would be - plus maybe the would serve as Christmas gifts?  I decided my yarn numbers needed to go down.

Plus, I have too much "stuff" in my craft studio - it feels small....

So, here are my first 7 dishcloths!  I'm using a white cone of Sugar and Cream dishcloth yarn combined with nylon netting that is commonly used in making tutus.

I made this simple Granny Square dishcloth just because.

So, I guess I'll be crocheting today!   I did knit one dishcloth using this pattern.  Maybe I'll try that.....

Stash Report.
I've bought so much fabric since my last post that I'll simply post my chart with the beautiful pictures following.  Sigh....in the red, in the red....

Thank goodness I finished a prayer shawl and some dishcloths or else my numbers would be horrid!
I hope you enjoy scrolling through my purchases.  Most of my fabric purchases were 1/4 yard cuts for my yo-yo quilt!

Yes, I've fallen hard for Kaffe Fassett!

A friend gifted me this scrap - enough to make 8 yo-yos!  I need only 6 to make a flower!

This fabric (below) was only supposed to be a yard purchase, but then one of my favorite sales clerk mentioned that it would make a pretty backing!  Sigh...at 40% off, I was a goner!
My final two additions to yo-yos!

I also added to my my black and white quilt stash....

Many of my purchases were made while on vacation in San Antonio.  Creations, a mega qult shop, is a stone's throw away!  I also support my LQS, now called Bee Sew Creative!

Oh!  Let's not forget my yarn purchases!
I went back to Micheal's and bought the rest of these reduced babies:
I hope you'll visit these link ups!

Saturday Song. Sunday Slow Stitching. Stash Report.

Saturday's Song
As I get ready every morning, I usually call my sister-in-law.  Lately, however, God has been speaking to me about beginning my mornings with Him.  So, I play praise and worship music every morning as I get ready for the day.

What a wonderful way to begin the morning - praising Jesus Christ, my LORD and Savior followed by a sisterly phone call!  I hope you are blessed by this week's Saturday Song!

Sunday Slow Stitching
I'll be working on Prayer Shawl #7 today.

The recipient is a very special lady who is quite ill.  Her faith is shaken - almost broken.  I wonder, would you pray for her?
The pattern is in The Crocheted Prayer Shawl Companion.

One Year of Stitches.
Not a lot of stitching was happening.  My poor husband was sick and, though he's an easy patient, crafting took a back seat to him.  After 14 years, we also had to put our poodle, Sammy, to sleep.

My #1yearofstitches looks about the same.  You can follow my progress on my Instagram account.  I'm considering restitching the red stitches.  I experimented with the stem stitch, but it didn't come out as nice as I would have like.....
Did you notice the painting in the back of a Native American warrior?  He is my reminder to pray for an extremely special  young man in my life who is battling emotionally and spiritually.

Stash Report
I've purchased 1.5 yard cuts of each of Marsha's at Bernina Sewing and Design Shop reduced 30's and 40's prints.

This bottom one is supposed to read Back Porch Prints.

Quillin Fiber Arts closed on Friday, so sad.

I've never crocheted with ribbon yarn, so I decided to give it a go with Deco-Ribbon (8.8 oz)  by Crystal Palace Yarns.  I found this red Cascades Sunseeker (3.5) quite by accident.  When I got home, I realized they go together quite well, so I'll give it a shot - one day....  :)

My yarn usage numbers
should go up now
as I don't plan
to buy any more yarn
unless it is to
complete a project.

How are your stash numbers?
