This post by Crystal Storms at Crystal Storms really changed the way I look at my husband. You see, if God is our Father, then He is my husband's Father as well. My husband is God's child, too. So, God would be my Father-in-Law! Whoa.....food for thought. Please visit her post as well as the next post....food for thought.

Week's List
1)
Even though I'm working more this week, I think I'll be able to finish the
second Tumbling Blocks prototype. This one is going much better! Done! Tada!
2) Finish
crocheting five blue and yellow flowers of the Maria's
Blue Crayon Spring Granny Afghan Crochet ! I wonder if adding starting
to join them is too much for my hands? We'll see...... Done!
3) Use up the rest of the strings for the CIL blocks. Nope - I have a TON of strings cut up!
4) Make progress on Prayer Shawl #7. This week our Cancer Care Group meets, so I'll be able
to work on this one. I usually reserve this project for this meeting
night. Done!
5) Pray my
prayer and memorize Genesis 50:20a A friend at church
recommended using Post-It notes all around the house to memorize
Scripture. I'm going to try that. LORD knows I have enough of
them! Done! But, I'm going to
keep focusing on this verse for this week as well.

You make my day with your comments!
I love reading and responding to them!
Wow....I see lots of finishes for you. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteThank you! It helps that they are all baby quilts. However, though they're small, I'm learning so much! Next I will try the Tumbling Block with Y-Seams and see how that goes. All this in preparation to make my son a Tumbling Block Quilt. Thank you for stopping by!
DeleteYour tumbling blocks quilt is gorgeous! Congrats on the finishes. Food for thought: it is often helpful to remember that all people are made in God's image. i.e. That person rubbing you the wrong way, how does God see him/her? Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm grateful to have improved my skills thanks to Laura's Nowne's Craftsy BOM 2013! Her class was instrumental in learning this skill! I love your "food for thought" as it adds gentleness, thoughfulness and grace to our lives. Thank you for sharing!

ReplyDeleteYour tumbling quilt is amazing. Congrats on the finish. Thank you for sharing your thought. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Good to be reminded that God loves all the others people too.:-)
ReplyDeleteThank you Birthe! He loves us all! Seeing my husband as God's son and God as my father-in-law was amazing. Then, as Sharon wrote in her comment, everyone is made is God's image. Seeing God as their Father as well is such a basic belief, but, for me, a great reminder. :)
DeleteThe Tumblings Block quilt is fantastic! Love that you used the darker orange as the border, it really frames it all up perfectly! Thank you so much for linking up with To-Do Tuesday, I really love reading your post and seeing what you are working on!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I'm learning a lot about color on my Tumbling Block journey! I so appreciate To-Do Tuesday! Thank you for hosting!
DeleteCongrats on getting the tumbling blocks off the list! A finish feels good doesn't it??
ReplyDeleteYes, Susan! I so love a good finish! Take good care!
DeleteThank you for featuring me and reminding me the importance of loving our husbands well by remembering who they are to God. Love your quilt - beautiful! Great verse to memorize and continue to meditate on. I love how Joseph's words challenge me to consider God's greater plan -- both for my good and His glory!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind comments and your inspiring blog! Yes, Joseph's words have brought me much comfort!
DeleteI love your tumbling blocks. That's one I haven't made yet and I just came across and easy method to try. I hope it turns out as well as yours. What makes this one a prototype? Are you going to make a bigger one?
ReplyDeleteHello Marti! Thank you for your kind comment! I wonder - what was your easy method that you found? I've been strip piecing mine. You are so right - this one is a prototype because I am going to make a bigger one for my son. He chose this pattern, so I wanted to practice on baby quilts first. Next I'll be trying to make one using Y-seams. Marsha at Bernina Sewing and Design - my local quilt shop - has offered to help me, so I have high hopes!
