Saturday's Song: Glorious Unfolding Part 3. Slow Stitching. Stash Report. Book Date.

Saturday's Song: Glorious Unfolding Part 3

In my last post we read about learning and praying the promise of God.  I bet many of you pray them over your loved ones' lives, but do you pray them over your own life? I know I struggle to pray for myself, but I'm working on that.

In his book, Prayer of Jabez, Bruce Wilkinson writes about a man who eavesdropped on the prayers of a man he deeply respected, a man of great faith.  Guess who this amazing man prayed for first?

Himself.  Yup.  Himself.

Friends, we are worth praying for - first.  How can we comfort others if we are running on empty?

I've never really looked at praying for myself this way, but how can I give comfort, if I've not received comfort from God Himself?  Sure, I know others pray for me and He responds to my needs, but how much more will I be comforted if I pray for myself?  If I pray for those needs only my heart knows, how much more will God work in my life?

Imagine how the amount of comfort I receive from Him will spill over to others?

God's plan from the start
For this world and your heart
Has been to show His glory and His grace
Forever revealing the depth and the beauty of
His unfailing love
And the story has only begun
And this is going to be a glorious unfolding
Just you wait and see and you will be amazed
We've just got to believe the story is so far from over
So hold on to every promise God has made to us
And watch this glorious unfolding

I wonder what His glorious unfolding will look like for me?  Do you wonder what it would look like for you?  Take a moment every day...find your promise....pray it over yourself every day and watch His glorious unfolding happen in your life!

Slow Stitching
Today I'll be slowing down to stitch up these Christmas ornaments.
I'll also be making some more hexies for this oldie but goodie project, my Hexagon Afghan.  The pattern is called Summertime Patchwork Quilt by Rose at Camilia Rose

I literally started it years ago!  It's too pretty to let it languish any longer!

Stash Report 4/17/21

There were no real changes in my fabric stash.  I'm binding a pretty big quilt, so that should help my numbers for next week.  Maybe I'll even end up in the black!

However, I did finish the wine afghan!  Yea!  It was almost a queen size afghan.
Sadly, I forgot to take a picture of it before I gifted it.  Here is a picture of they yarn and when I was working on it.

Book Date

Pip and I continue to keep each other company.  I'm surprised how much I enjoy listening to this wonderful classic.

I started reading the third book in Liz Tolsma's Women of Courage series, Remember the Lilies.  I've really enjoyed this series!
I finished The Bookshop of Yesterday and wow....it was a great read!  I highly recommend this book.
Next up:

I recently picked up several of Betty Hechtman's books.  Hooked on Murder is the first book in her A Crochet Mystery series.  I thoroughly enjoyed reading it!  I'm sure Dead Men Don't Crochet will not disappoint!

Your comments are so appreciated!
I read each one and will respond by email to you! :)

  4. The wine afghan must have been beautiful, based on your picture of it in progress!

I read Great Expectations when I was a freshman in high school but haven't re-visited. I definitely remember Miss Havisham though! I plan to read Dickens's The Old Curiosity Shop at some point for The Classics Club though.

    Enjoy your week!
