Jesus Asked It #6. I Like! BOMs Away!

Jesus Asked It #6
Jesus Asked Series: 1,  2, 3, 4, 5

In my NIV Bible, the section of Matthew 6:25-34 is titled, “Do Not Worry.”  Do. Not. Worry.
The beginning refers to how God clothes the grass of the field.  The NKJV refers to the lilies of the field.  If they, which are temporary are so beautifully clothed, how much more/better will He clothe us?

Many of us will face difficult circumstances this year or perhaps are dealing with situations from 2018.  Let us be of great faith, trusting God to spiritually clothe us with His fruit.
Easier said than done, but we can encourage each other to gird ourselves with the Truth (Ephesians 6:14 NKJV) and put on the full armor of God.  Be blessed, dear ones!

I Like!
Every Thursday, Lee Anna at Not Afraid of Color hosts a wonderful linky party filled with posts about what people like.  It is a quite interesting!  She adds in a section called "Milo's Moment", where her beautiful poodle adds in his likes as well!

It's been on my mind this week, so I'm joining up as well!  I hope you join the party!

When I first started sewing again, I made this cover for my book.  I have decorated it with slogans and quotes from friends.  Lots of wisdom here.  It reminds me to stay calm and have faith.

I reorganized the grandkids' toy room and now it is a guest room/office/toy room.  I make sure this lamp is visible as I walk by the open door.  Another reminder of my faith.
I love my Promise Box filled with encouraging Scriptures from the Bible.  It was a gift from a dear friend.

The view from my desk reminds me of 1) my grandkids, 2) loved guests who have visited and 3) nothing is impossible with God.  I made this quilt while going through chemotherapy and the year afterwards.  It reminds me that God can make something beautiful out of the ashes of our lives.  Beauty for ashes (Isaiah 61:3).

BOMs Away!
Admittedly this week is a bit tough as my $7.50  BOM requires four blocks each this month, but that's ok.  Slow and steady wins the race.  I'm a fourth done already with one of them!  Here are my practice blocks done in 30's fabrics:

And here are the "real blocks"!

Happy sewing, Everyone!

  5. We need to remind ourselves often of how her takes care of the birds of the air and clothes the lilies of the field, don't we!?

  7. Love your book cover and lamp! Your BOMs are beautiful! Such a nice pattern. I really like it. And thanks for the devotional. Sometimes we do have to remind ourselves to let go and let God and not worry about things. As the Bible says, we can't change a thing by worrying. My dear husband helped me realize that lesson early in our marriage. Thanks for sharing!

  8. It is easier said than done. It requires letting God be in control and that is often the hard part.

I like your BOMs, both sets.

  9. You are so right, Marti! I'm learning that lesson yet again. Thank you for your kind comments regarding the BOMs. I'm learning a lot about coordinating colors with the 30's prints. Take good care!
