Revelation 7:17; John 11:35, Fiber Fun, Literary Life, Finding Joy

Hello There,
As you know, my daddy has been ill for some time. Sadly, my precious Daddy passed away earlier this month. People have called to share their memories of him. Now the stories he used to tell me about  his life they bring me comfort and joy.   As soon as my husband is feeling better, we will be going to San Diego.

Thank you all for your prayers for him and our family during his illness.
Take care and hug the ones you love more than ever before.
Take good care and, as Daddy used to say,
"Make memories; it's later than you think."

HERE'S A WORD

Faith...broken faith...faltering faith.  Here, I will share a Scripture about these topics.  No judgement, only love.

"And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."  I think of this verse during this time of mourning.  I also thought of you, you who might be struggling with your faith.  I pray we all will find comfort and strength as God wipes every tear from our eye.
Then I found John 11:35.  Jesus wept.  There is a thought by some commentor's that His tears were silent tears.  I don't know, but I wonder how He felt as His Father wiped those tears, be them internal or external, away.
To me, sometimes it feels like the "peace that passes all understanding". (Philippians 4:7) At other times, I feel God holding me in His comforting arms as I weep.
I pray that, regardless of your emotions, you will find comfort as God wipes ever tear from your eye and you will find the peace that passes all understanding.
I pray for you to be restored, healed and know this:
You are loved.  You are not alone.  You are being lovingly prayed for.

FIBER FUN

I broke down my "To Dos" into three categories:  Finish, Focus, Prep/make a kit, and Be Kind = Soft Deadlines.  FoF represents the Fields of Fancy BOM, which I'm doing with Liberty of London Tana Lawn fabrics.

Last Week's List
1.  Finish
We are planning to choose a frame for this project today.  It'll be nice to see it finished.  Not done.  I realized I have another matching project in the same style and color.  Both were stitched in my early days of slow stitching, 44 years ago.  I stitched this one for my husband.
I stitched this one for Daddy.  We decided to get matching frames.
Instead, we framed these.  This one was given to me by a dear friend.

LeeAnna from Not Afraid of Color emailed me precious picture.
I got it framed and am exited to hang it in my office.
Thank you, LeeAnna!

2.  Focus

FoF BOM Applique one prepped hexie and bind another Acufactum hexie

Quilt The Flower Pot by Louise Kraft DONE! I decided to use this as a door quilt for Mama so I hand embroidered her name as well as her beloved fur baby's name in the center.

Jet Set Sewing Stationstep 3 and 4 DONE!  I was to make the mesh bag and the side flaps.  The mesh bag was so easy, I went ahead one step.

3.   Prepare/make a kit

Continue cutting and labeling the pieces for Month 5 of the FoF DONE!

These are the appliqued pieces.

These are the Afactum fabric ones.  I'm starting to experiment with hand quilting, so I quilted the house on the bottom row.
4. Be kind = Soft Deadlines - which are good for my mental health!

Next Week’s List

1.  Finish
Bind The Flower Pot by Louise Kraft

2.  Focus

- FoF BOM Applique one prepped hexie and bind another Acufactum hexie
Jet Set Sewing Station step 5 - We're almost finished!
3.   Prepare/make a kit
Do you remember this quilt I mentioned back in April? I decided to  pick it up again and, starting next week, this will be added to my "Focus" projects.

- Pick fabrics and cut any templates for my new BOM, Flower Box Friends by Pastthyme Patterns, hosted by Marsha Cowan at Be Sew Creative.  Can I keep up with two hand stitched BOM's?  No way.  But I'll enjoy the process!  Below the brown envelope are three sheets of wool, but it's hard to see.  The pink flower on the top will be our first block.

4. Be kind = Soft Deadlines - which are good for my mental health!

LITERARY LIFE

CURRENT READS

FINISHED

***** The Names by Florence Knapp is a five star read.  I'll share a review next week.

MAILBOX MONDAY is a gathering place for readers to share books that they

added to their shelves or eBook readers the previous week.
I haven't picked up any books this week, but I did find some freebies!↓↓

Our aunt taught me about ereaderiq.com which offers free/for purchase eBooks.  I set my filters to free and have picked up several eBooks.  I am surprised at how quickly the prices change, though.

FINDING JOY
LeeAnna's I Like on Thursdays at Not Afraid of Color helps me consistently find the joy in every life.  She also provides a prompt for us to use.  This week's prompt is: What Dairy Queen treat did you like best? Do you still eat ice cream treats? How about milkshakes? I loved the Dilly Bars - still do!  I rarely eat ice cream now as sugar is an inflammatory, but once in a while, I'll indulge.  Milk shakes were ok, but I preferred floats.  In Okinawa, they would make them with vanilla ice cream and fruit flavored sodas.  I loved those!

I'm so excited about my new slow stitching BOM that I wrote about above.
