Jesus Asked It #7. I Like.....My Furry Friends! Stitchers' Garden Block 1.

Jesus Asked It #7
Jesus Asked Series: 1,  2, 3, 4, 5, 6
Since it has been a while since I've addressed this series, I went back to re-read Jesus Asked it #6.  Little did I know how I would be writing to myself.  This year has been tough, and God has been faithful to clothe me with His comforting and strengthening presence.  I live in wonder of it all with a heart filled with praise.

Now, onto Jesus Asked It #7!
Let's remember that this question: Are you not much more valuable than they? comes directly from Jesus.  Directly. From. Jesus.  Himself.  How do you answer it?  Do we realize our own worth in His eyes?  Do we listen to our self-depreciating self-talk?  Come on.  We all say ugly things to ourselves at one point or another.  A friend once said, "If my friend talked to me that way I talk to myself, I wouldn't be friends with her anymore!"  Hmmm.....

So, perhaps we tell ourselves, "I know full well that I am fearfully and wonderfully made, praise God!"

Or we could tell ourselves, "I am a chosen person, chosen by God to share His love and light with others!"  Wow.  The honor and responsibility that lies therein.  But that is another whole new topic.  My point is:  we are chosen by God.  By. God.

Finally, we can tell ourselves, "I need never fear for God is with me, strengthening, helping and upholding me!"

So, perhaps we - for sure myself - can speak these and similar thoughts to ourselves.  What do you think?

Thursday's Likes!
It's great to be back!  Here's an update on Daddy!  My daughter gave me this lovely wood sign by Melissa Anne for my birthday.
It is perfect for this time in my life especially after reading the story behind the song.

This week's likes will feature Chico with a bit of my sweet, dear Mia and Kitty!  There may be a few repeats.....I forget which ones I've shared!
This was supposed to be a photo of the new set up for my study/grandkid's playroom, but Chico decided to join in!

Chico on guard duty!

Oooops!  He fell asleep on the job!

Chico "making friends" with Kitty!
He hasn't learned about boundaries yet,
but she'll teach him!

Oh Chico, Kitty is so patient with you!

Mia showing Chico how to make friends
with my Granddog, Coco.

Maybe he's learning?

Stitcher's Garden Block 1
Did I mention that I joined my LQS's Stitcher's Garden class?  It's challenging for me, but I'm loving it!  Here is my first block!

Here are some ideas on how the quilt will look from a Google search.

  1. I am so happy with what you tell and so great that your father could go on a journey.
Thanks for the great song you share. Now I hear several of his songs on Spotify. It's good to know that God's anchor holds.
I love the beautiful BOM blocks. It is so nice to have projects with others and especially with a daughter. :-)

  2. Yes, God cares for us!
It is so important that we have to say good things to ourselves as well.
Chico is so cute, and so nice pictures of Chico and Kitty.
The block you have sewn is very beautiful. Can't wait to keep up with the new challenges you participate in. :-)

  4. Great thoughts in the first of your post, something I need reminders on more often than I care to admit. Love all the books in the playroom/study! And the spring look of the quilt block is perfect :) Hope you have a wonderful Thursday!

  5. Your garden block is lovely! Have fun with your class! So glad your dad is doing well after his first chemo. Love the plaque from your daughter. It is one of my all-time favorites, and I've always loved the story behind the song. What faith and trust in God! Thanks for reminding me of that today! Have a blessed weekend!

  7. I had recently read the story about that song. I always think of the song by Crowder called How He Loves Us. Your block is lovely. Yep kitty will teach Chico boundaries. I have that with the inherited cat when I got my little pup.
