Hello There,

    Welcome, and thank you so much for stopping in! Has Spring sprung in your neck of the woods? Here in Southern New Mexico, we have had a mix of hot, cool, and perfect temperatures.  I'm finding recovery slow going, probably due to a sinus infection developing a few days after I was diagnosed with strep.  Talk about a 2 for 1!

Hello There,

Thank you so much for stopping in!  I sure hope you all are doing better than I am.  It's my birthday weekend and strep throat decided to crash the party.  I've been miserable, but am hopeful the coming week will be better.  My husband, who is an amazing cook, made me a big pot of delicious chicken/vegetable soup!  It's so soothing to my throat.  Thank You, God for antibiotics, my wonderful husband and chicken soup!

This is the geranium that my son-in-law got me for Mother's Day several years ago.  I've taken good care of it, but despite my efforts, this last winter, it looked like I had lost it to a freeze.  I kept it in the shade by the pond and watered it faithfully even though it just looked like a pot of dirt.  And look what happened!"
With just a bit of hope, TLC and perseverance, we can be amazed by God's works!

 LeeAnna over at Not Afraid of Color hosts an "I Like" link up party.  This week I'm happy to join in the fun.  

I like being surprised....I thought this plant and its friends were weeds.  After a bit of patience, I realized that they are ready to bloom!  A friend thinks they may be lilies....we'll see!

I love making gifts for my daughter!

I was lucky enough to find the

her wedding afghan!

I'm beginning to really like my husband's doggie, Chico!  He used to really annoy me, but he's maturing nicely!

I like finding misplaced completed projects!  This one was in my "to frame" basket that I forgot I even created!  The embroidery design is by Mollie Johanson at Wild Olive.  She reblogged about this pattern as it is so appropriate for these times that we are living in. 

Her post is amazingly calming and healing.

Saturday's Song

I heard "Eye of the Storm" again on the radio and it blessed me.  As we go through the storms of life, He is the anchor that holds us in stormy times.  
He's held me, continues to hold me and He'll hold you as well.  
During stormy times, praise and worship help me see His truth, much like this song says.  Clarity and peace come as I worship Him who hold us in the palm of His hands.  

According to the story behind the song, it is based on Psalm 69.  

May the LORD strengthen us as we learn to praise Him in the storm.

Slow Stitching Sundays
I finished this embroidery project for my granddaughter.  It's called Follow Your Heart by Tamar Nahir-Yanai.  

Next steps?  Convert it into a pillow!  I love making things for my grandchildren....sigh.....

Today I've also been binding a bow-tie quilt.  It's my first time using scrappy binding and I'm loving how it is coming out!  I'm hoping to share the finished product this Wednesday. 
UPDATE:  Here is the picture of the finished flimsy as well as a funny story about taking pictures of my finished quilts!

These lyrics describe my heart so completely.  Till I found Him, I was lost, angry, resentful, bitter.......now I find peace in the midst of the storm, more self-acceptance than I dreamed was possible, hope instead of despair.......I bet you could turn your life around if you trusted Him.  Here is a wonderful turnaround story!

Slow Stitching

Today I'm hoping to continue stitching on this embroidery project.  You know, our hearts can sometimes mislead us, so I've decided to stitch "Jesus" in the middle of the heart....maybe in gold thread.  

Naturally, I'm hoping to make some more...you guessed it!  Dishcloths!

Are you feeling under pressure lately?  Perhaps work issues?  family issues?  emotional issues?
This song tells how God He can make diamonds out of dust - the dust of our pain.  Jon Steingard does a great job of sharing the story behind this song.  

All I know is that diamonds are created under pressure - immense pressure.  
Pressure is something we are all familiar with.  Guess what?
We've all survived begin under great pressure - heck - some of us have even thrived!
We're being made into diamonds dear readers - we're being made into beautiful, precious, valued diamonds.

Slow Stitching

It has been a lovely day with friends and family.  There's been a wee bit of time for slow stitching, though!

I was able to write up and embroider a bit on my Still Stitching project.  

My Spring Granny Square Afghan got  a bit of attention today!  Finally!  

Tonight I hope to add the blue flower with with borders to begin the second row of my Yo-Yo Quilt.

Hello Everybody!  
I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!  Isn't it nice to finally sit at the table with our loved ones after preparing such a preparing such a wonderful meal?

As we were going around the table sharing what we were thankful for this year, I asked my three-year-old grandson what he was thankful for.  He enthusiastically responded, "Race cars!!"  He loves Lightening McQueen!

This week this song has played EVERY TIME I turn on the radio.  I've decided to share it with you tonight.  I hope, if you are broken tonight, you can be gracefully broken.  I've definitely had my share of brokenness....lately this song has been my blessing.

Slow Stitching
Two more pieces of the Felt Advent Calendar are finished!  Yea!  I'm up to 11/25 now!  

This week I'll be making a very basic felt tree and sewing on the 25 buttons so the kiddos can begin hanging their ornaments!
Not much has been happening on the crocheting front.  Been busy with the Advent Calendar.  

One Year of Stitches.
Have you heard of Hannah Claire Somerville's 1 Year of Stitches?  It's really neat.  This year I have been intrigued by @cabakes  #1yearofstitches on Instagram.  


Today, the anniversary of my Triple Negative Breast Cancer diagnosis (2014), I decided to start my own journey.  I'll be posting updates on my Instagram account:  @miaismine22.
