For the choirmaster. According to Sheminith.a A Psalm of David.
1 Help, O LORD, for the godly are no more;
the faithful have vanished from among men.
2They lie to one another;
they speak with flattering lips and a double heart.
3May the LORD cut off all flattering lips
4They say, “With our tongues we will prevail.
We own our lips—who can be our master?”
5“For the cause of the oppressed
and for the groaning of the needy,
I will now arise,” says the LORD.
“I will bring safety to him who yearns.”
6The words of the LORD are flawless,
like silver refined in a furnace,
like gold purified sevenfold.b
7You, O LORD, will keep us;
You will forever guard us from this generation.
8The wicked wander freely,
- He helps us
- the LORD cut off all flattering lips and every boastful tongues
- He sees the cause of the oppressed
- He hears the groaning of the needy
- He responds by rising up and bringing safety to him who yearns.
- He speaks flawless, refined and purified words
- He keeps us
- He guards us forever from this generation
5“For the cause of the oppressed
and for the groaning of the needy,
I will now arise,” says the LORD.
“I will bring safety to him who yearns.”
Because His words are flawless and pure, they have the power to rescue and protect us when we surrender our hearts and lives to Him. I know this firsthand. I have carried a thorn in my side for over forty-five years, and these last few months, I almost allowed my reaction to it to cause real harm. But God... yes, God moved.

Sharing cheesecakes sound like great fun! Glad you had a good trip. SD is such a beautiful place, but it was way back in the mid 1990s when I visited.
ReplyDeleteHow interesting that you were not raised in a strong faith but developed one. We all have different faith journeys designed just for us, and how sweet that is.
I think it is wonderful you are accepting that you love handwork more than machine work. If it give you joy, then that's for you.
Lol on not crocheting during exciting TV!
My dad was stationed in San Diego for part of the war, and my mom worked for a summer at her aunt's cafe near there, and so I've always wanted to go there and see that beautiful place. I'm glad you had a good time. Thanks for sharing your beautiful hexagons. I did not realize that you were not raised in a strong faith tradition.
ReplyDeleteYour hexagons are beautiful, Patricia! Pretty yarn too. Beautiful flower photos.
ReplyDeleteFocusing on God is so important. What lovely work you do, Patricia. Love the hexagons. Enjoy your reading.

Your hexagons are perfect! I'm glad you made lots of memories and had fun in San Diego. I don't crochet so I don't have an answer for you. Thank you for the book recommendations!--TerryK@OnGoingProjects

Hand stitching is slowly becoming a lost art. How wonderful that you are embracing it. Thanks for sharing in Sew & Tell. I imagine that the yarn is a treat to touch.
