Psalm 12:5, Fiber Fun and a Finish, Literary Living, Finding Joy

 Hello There,
Welcome!  I hope you've had a fabulous week!  I wanted to share a couple of blogging tips I've learned the hard way.  I've lost so much time when I somehow make the post/s I'm working on disappear.  Now I regularly create a backup for these posts as I'm writing them. Perhaps some of you work on your phone and computer as you write your posts.  Make sure to close your posts before you use your other devices.  Otherwise, the post might disappear.  Ask me how I know.

Another frustrating experience is losing my photos on previous posts.  Grrrrr... I regularly delete photos to clear up memory on my laptop.  I've learned that if I delete the source photos, they will disappear from the posts.  Also if the link is expired, they disappear.  I'm not sure how links expire, but that's what Ms. Google told me.
Am I missing something here?  Do your blog photos also disappear?
I'd love to hear from you about this!

Take good care and, as Daddy used to say,
"Make memories; it's later than you think."

HERE'S A WORD
As I prepped for this study, I simply highlight all the words that describe what God does for us in my Bible.  Then I make a list of them.  I'll follow the same format here.

The Godly Are No More

For the choirmaster. According to Sheminith.a A Psalm of David.

1 Help, O LORD, for the godly are no more;

the faithful have vanished from among men.

2They lie to one another;

they speak with flattering lips and a double heart.

3May the LORD cut off all flattering lips

and every boastful tongue.

4They say, “With our tongues we will prevail.

We own our lips—who can be our master?”

5“For the cause of the oppressed

and for the groaning of the needy,

I will now arise,” says the LORD.

“I will bring safety to him who yearns.”

6The words of the LORD are flawless,

like silver refined in a furnace,

like gold purified sevenfold.b

7You, O LORD, will keep us;

You will forever guard us from this generation.

8The wicked wander freely,

and vileness is exalted among men.
  • He helps us
  • the LORD cut off all flattering lips and every boastful tongues
  • He sees the cause of the oppressed
  • He hears the groaning of the needy
  • He responds by rising up and bringing safety to him who yearns.
  • He speaks flawless, refined and purified words
  • He keeps us
  • He guards us forever from this generation

The oppressed.  What does that mean?  Webster's dictionary says:  "burdened by abuse of power or authority".

Even when our pain or oppression leaves us with nothing but groans, the Holy Spirit intercedes on our behalf. As Romans 8:26 reminds us, God hears and understands these deep expressions of grief—which Webster defines as "to utter a deep moan indicative of pain, grief, or annoyance"—ensuring we are always heard.

26In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness.
We do not know what we ought to pray for,
but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.
27And he who searches our hearts
knows the mind of the Spirit,
because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people
in accordance with the will of God.

One of the timers when my own prayers were but groans was when my sister told me Daddy was fading away.  There were groans and pleas for him not to leave me, though deep in my heart I knew he was dying.  I wasn't aware of anything except my pleas and pain.

However, somewhere deep in my spirit, I knew God would give me the strength to go through this difficult time and He would bring the healing to my family, loved ones and I lwould need in the days to come.  And He has.

God will do the same for you as you ask Jesus into your heart and place your trust and life to Him.

Please know this:
You are loved.  You are not alone.  You are being lovingly prayed for.

FIBER FUN
I broke down my "To Dos" into three categories:  Finish, Focus, Prep/make a kit, and Be Kind = Soft Deadlines.  FoF represents the Fields of Fancy BOM, which I'm doing with Liberty of London Tana Lawn fabrics.  FBF represents the Flower Box Friends BOM
Last Week's List
Finish
- Maybe finish my granddaughter's ornament Done!  It's a wrap.  It will join  the crossstitch of Darth Vader on my design board as I decided how to turn it into an ornament.  The pattern is called Spring Floral Bouquet Embroidery by Ideal Hand Embroidery on Etsy.
Focus
- FoF applique Very little progress as a squirrel convinced me to make this shawl!  Depending on the light, the color seems to change.  It's about 5' long, perfect to dress up an outfit or, in colder conditions, it could be a combination cowl/scarf.   The pattern I used is The Classic Cowl at HanJan Crochet .  It looked challenging, but is quite easy once I had a few rows finished, it went quickly.

Prepare/make a kit
- My Christmas gifts for my physicians' and their staff will be crocheted cowls.  I'm hoping to pick up some more yarn and keep these going.  I did pick up more yarn and began more cowls.
4. Be kind = Soft Deadlines - which are good for my mental health!

Next Week's Goals
Finish
- at least one Fof hexagon
Focus
- FoF applique
- this shawl with such beautiful Peruian yarn by Amano Yarns.  The pattern is by Fosbas Designs.
Prepare/make a kit
All the prep work is finished for the FoF.  It’s time to stitch - in between crocheting!  :)
Be kind = Soft Deadlines - which are good for my mental health!

15 MINUTES TO STICH
I’m joining the '15 Minutes to Stitch' challenge at Life in Pieces to  build the habit of machine sewing every day.  It's easy to find time for prep work or hand stitching, but making it to the machine consistently is where I need the extra push.
As we are out of town this week, I'll simply count slow stitching - 7/7.  Of course!
We are blessed to have wonderful house/dog sitters so I can enjoy our time away.

LITERARY LIFE
MAILBOX MONDAY is a gathering place for readers to share books that they added to their shelves or eBook readers the previous week.  Some of these books were recommended by you!  Do you see your reads below?  Thank all of you for sharing!
Here's what I've picked up this week from ereaderiq.com.

I haven't finished any books this week, but am enjoying these two from Net Galley.

FINDING JOY
LeeAnna's I Like on Thursdays at Not Afraid of Color helps me consistently find the joy in every life.  She also provides a prompt for us to use.  Did you ever dye your hair, or perm and it turned into a disaster?  I'm pretty conservative when it comes to my hair, so no disasters here!

Have you all heard of the blog Elefantz, written by Jenny? Her blog has such a gentle tone and is filled with details of her life, wonderfully deep Bible studies, and lots of free patterns. Plus, her shop is filled with inspiring ideas!
Last week, she shared her study of Abigail. I've downloaded it and am enjoying learning from it so much. Here is the link to her Bible study.

I discovered this brand of crochet hook
and it was love at first stitch!
They are so lightweight
that I could crochet without pain.

I'm missing my fur babies!

Your comments are so appreciated!
I read each one and will respond by email.
You can also expect a visit from me as well!
