Hello There,
Here's the story behind the song.
For the director of music. To the tune of “The Death of the Son.” A psalm of David.
1I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart;
I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.
2I will be glad and rejoice in you;
I will sing the praises of your name, O Most High.
3My enemies turn back;
they stumble and perish before you.
4For you have upheld my right and my cause,
sitting enthroned as the righteous judge.
5You have rebuked the nations and destroyed the wicked;
you have blotted out their name for ever and ever.
6Endless ruin has overtaken my enemies,
you have uprooted their cities;
even the memory of them has perished.
7The Lord reigns forever;
he has established his throne for judgment.
8He rules the world in righteousness
and judges the peoples with equity.
9The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed,
a stronghold in times of trouble.
10Those who know your name trust in you,
for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.
11Sing the praises of the Lord, enthroned in Zion;
proclaim among the nations what he has done.
12For he who avenges blood remembers;
he does not ignore the cries of the afflicted.
13Lord, see how my enemies persecute me!
Have mercy and lift me up from the gates of death,
14that I may declare your praises
in the gates of Daughter Zion,
and there rejoice in your salvation.
15The nations have fallen into the pit they have dug;
their feet are caught in the net they have hidden.
16The Lord is known by his acts of justice;
the wicked are ensnared by the work of their hands. c
17The wicked go down to the realm of the dead,
all the nations that forget God.
18But God will never forget the needy;
the hope of the afflicted will never perish.
- He reins forever
- He established His throne for judgement
- He judges in righteousness
- He governs with righteousness
- He provides refuge for the oppressed
- He is a stronghold
- He never forsakes those who seek Him

Ooof, strep throat - so painful! I hope you start feeling much better soon. Your binding for the Disappearing Nine Patch is beautiful, looking forward to seeing it. Enjoy your Easter weekend as much as you can.
ReplyDeleteAh, I'm sorry that you have such an unpleasant visitor on your birthday weekend. Let's hope your visitor is gone soon!
ReplyDeleteThe colors on that disappearing nine-patch are lovely.
Your quilting skills leave me speechless. They are so exquisite.
ReplyDeleteI, too, am studying Psalms right now. The Psalms of Ascent, 120-134. This last week we focused on God's work. It caught us all up -- it gave us pause to think of God working, as we should.
The book Soldier On looks familiar I'm not sure I read it. You work on a number of projects I will check back and in and see how they go. Have a good Easter and thanks for dropping by my blog.
ReplyDeleteI’m so sorry you have strep throat, and on your birthday no less! Hoping for a swift recovery! I enjoy seeing all of your fiber projects. I am especially enjoying the hexie-embroidery and the bee quilts.
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by! I really need to focus on a couple of projects that have been dragging on for too long!
ReplyDeleteI’m sorry that your birthday weekend has been spoiled by strep, I hope you schedule in a do-over for when you feel better.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a happy reading week
Happy birthday! I hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling better soon! That chicken soup sounds yummy. Your Bee project is so sweet! Wishing you energy and good health so that you can get lots of stitching in this week!
ReplyDeleteI have The Maid waiting for me to pick up from the library this week!
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon!
Happy birthday! I hope you will feel better soon and enjoy sewing this so cute and pretty Bee project! How adorable! I also love your disappearing 9-patch, joyful and bright colors. Pretty embroideries too. Thank you for sharing and linking up!
ReplyDeleteStrep is never fun. Hopefully you are over the worst of it now. Good luck with this week's to dol list.
ReplyDeleteOuch! Strep is no fun. However, the Bee Humble quilt will be the best medicine after your husband's chicken soup.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear that a Spring bug crashed your birthday party! Good soup, good care and some stitching on your lap if you're up to it are just the ticket to getting better. Regarding the finish of your embroidery project (which I love BTW): can it fit nicely into a standard embroidery hoop? If so, Helen D on YouTube did a tutorial recently where she finished a piece in a basic wooden hoop by wrapping the hoop with coordinating floss. It is a pretty and simple finish! She propped hers up in a hoop stand but I was thinking that you could also cut a slit in a craft foam block and cover it with fabric to create a stand a well.
ReplyDeleteI love your idea of keeping things simple for Easter dinner. Simple is good!
