Psalm 4 Part 2, Fiber Fun, Literary Life, Finding Joy

Hello There,

Well, we had an unusual week that cumulated in an unplanned, five day trip to San Antonio.  This was not a pleasure trip, but we did manage to squeeze in a quick trip to the Mercado that is close to the Riverwalk.
I'm looking forward to settling back into a routine.  I'm so happy to be home, I wish I could give my whole home a big hug.  Dorothy, from the Wizard of Oz, was correct in saying, "There's no place like home!"
Take good care and, as Daddy used to say,
"Make memories; it's later than you think."

HERE'S A WORD
Here is a supplemental insight I gained from Psalm 4. I pray it blesses you as much, or more, than it blessed me.

Psalm 4 a

For the director of music. With stringed instruments. A psalm of David.

1Answer me when I call to you,

my righteous God.

Give me relief from my distress;

have mercy on me and hear my prayer.

2How long will you people turn my glory into shame?

How long will you love delusions and seek false gods b c

3Know that the Lord has set apart his faithful servant for himself;

the Lord hears when I call to him.

4Tremble and d do not sin;

when you are on your beds,

search your hearts and be silent.

5Offer the sacrifices of the righteous

and trust in the Lord.

6Many, Lord, are asking, “Who will bring us prosperity?”

Let the light of your face shine on us.

7Fill my heart with joy

when their grain and new wine abound.

8In peace I will lie down and sleep,

for you alone, Lord,

make me dwell in safety.
As you may have read in my last post, Psalm 4 was jammed packed with blessings and encouragement!  As I re-read Psalm 4, verse 7a popped out to me as such a precious promise.   Oh yes, LORD, please fill our hearts with joy - with Your joy that we may be strengthened! (Nehemmiah 8:10).  Regardless of whatever we are facing, let us lean into His arms, His love and His joy that we may find the strength it offers all of us.
Please know this:
You are loved.  You are not alone.  You are being lovingly prayed for.

LITERARY LIFE
MAILBOX MONDAY is a gathering place for readers to share books that they added to their shelves or eBook readers the previous week.  Some of these books were recommended by you!  Do you see your reads below?  Thank all of you for sharing!
Here's what I've picked up this week.
ereaderiq.com I'm starting to post these titles on Instagram on the day I acquire them as the deals are short-term.

Finished
***** Hello Beautiful by Ann Napolitan is a definite five-star read that has stayed with me.  Napolitano wrote a saga about the lives of four sisters, their love for each other, how their loyalties are tested and the power, the beautiful power of love. Take the time to read the author's note at the end.  Highly recommend.

FINDING JOY
LeeAnna's I Like on Thursdays at Not Afraid of Color helps me consistently find the joy in every life.  She also provides a prompt for us to use.  Here is this week's prompt:  Describe a wonderful romantic date.  What a prompt, right?  :)  I remember when we lived in Okinawa, my husband and I would sit near the seawall and dream about how life "back in the States" would be for our family.  We were so filled with idealistic hopes and dreams. ocean, the sunset, the two of us...it was really wonderful.

Here's some memes you might enjoy.

  1. I know that feeling of being happy to be back home. We experience that every time we leave the house and go back home - even for grocery runs! I guess that is a sign you are where you are meant to be. :D Your Disappearing Nine-Patch looks like it is going well, and Chloe looks like the best assistant. I love your romantic date, that is so sweet.

  2. I had to share the sewing valentines with my aunt and my sister-in-law who love to sew. Your sewing valentines made them happy.

    I'm glad you are taking away some good things from the grief books.

    I corrected the link you posted today to be this one.
