It's been a while, hasn't it? Life has been...challenging, but as my wise younger sister says, "We'll figure it out, and "We're going to be ok." In the last year and a half, priorities have shifted and, though I set goals, deadlines have been thrown out the window. 😊 It's actually quite liberating.
I'm not sure how Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer, or life for that matter, will evolve, but, "We'll figure it out and will be ok."
UPDATE: Just updated the links to linky parties - LOL! I forgot to do that.
HERE'S A WORD - Faith...broken faith...faltering faith. Here I will share a Scripture about these topics. No judgement, only love.
If discouragement and hopelessness are in our hearts, let us be transparent with trusted loved ones. They will pray for us as we navigate the desert.
FIBER FUN
Do you want to increase your productivity? In order to find focus, I have become even more organized. Connie's (Freemotion by the River) calendars have greatly increased my productivity. Thank you so much, Connie! The calendars work well with the "To Do, In Progress, Done" method using sticky notes. Here is a link to a Google search if you're interested.
Crochet: I'm working on a special request scarf for my grandson. It's a simple half-double crochet worked in the back loops using a G hook and 2 skeins of Hobby Lobby's I Love This Yarn sport weight yarn.
Hand Embroidery: One of my projects is a gift, so that will have to wait for a bit, however, I can share a very cool free Bauble Advent embroidery project by Liz at Bluebell Love. I started it while in San Diego as we took care of my Daddy knowing it wouldn't be finished "on schedule".
English Paper Piecing fits perfectly into my life as we are traveling a lot more than before. These containers from Lowes are perfect for EPP as they have secure lids, are completely customizable (is that a word?) and affordable. The larger one has a smaller size inside, so you get 2 for roughly $10! Aren't they cool?
Machine Embroidery: I made about 30 of these Kimberbell mug rugs using fabric and batting scraps. First, I prep the needed supplies and, while the machine stitches away, I clean/organize my sewing room or slow stitch on a mindless project.
Quilting: All the blocks have been made for Be Sew Creative's $15 Sampler quilt, The Montage by Karen Montgomery. Next up is making the sashing with cornerstones.
LITERARY LIFE
Life is a bit too complicated to "officially" join reading challenges, but I am setting a few goals for myself which are under my user name, MIAISMINE on Goodreads (link on sidebar). I am thoroughly enjoying all of these books - don't see any of them landing on my DNF shelf!
I was so looking forward to reading the next book in Ellery Adams' series! Thank you, Libby App!

ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
The Booklover's Library looks good. I hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to see you linking to Sunday Salon this week! You are working on so many great projects. My aunt came down and helped me finish a quilt I'd promised my granddaughter, but I honestly don't want to do any more quilting for a long, long time. I made a junk journal yesterday with quotes in it, and that's the extent of my crafting. Your work is gorgeous to see, and I know it gives you delight---thank you for sharing it with us!
ReplyDeleteWell, I absolutely love the Bauble Advent. I am definitely going to shop around for one. It suits the kind of quick and easy project I gravitate to. Another item of interest here is that project bin! Yes, I know what I will be shopping for the next time I go to Lowe's! *wink* And finally, you are a reader! Not only do we have hand-stitching in common, we also love books! I am going to check out the titles you shared. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteNice to see you back here. I see two books I enjoyed - Sold on Monday and The Booklover's Library. And anything by Ellery Adams I am sure will be good. You certainly have down so much with all the crafts. Awesome.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back!! I am sorry 2024 was so challenging for you, I hope 2025 is off to a great start! I love seeing all your works in progress. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI love the color of the red scarf. It's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYour Lowe's containers do look perfect.
Thank you for the book suggestions. I'm always on the lookout for the next good book.
Sorry about your 2024. I love that you hold on to the promises of God. Your babble Advent embroidery is so cute! Great cardinals! I'm interested in Connie's calendar--news to me.
ReplyDeleteYour story about your sister saying "We'll figure it out" made me think of this. I don't know what my husband and I were talking about but I opened my mouth and heard my grandmother saying, "It'll be alright." I sounded just like her! She's still with us so it was just kind of funny at the time but it's also reassuring to know that she'll always be a part of me. I like to lovingly tease her about the way she calls her pets to "C'mon! C'mon now!" or the very distinct way she says "Hello?" when she answers the phone, so I knew I could imitate those phrases with pitch-perfect accuracy but this was a new, completely unplanned one.
ReplyDeleteAll your projects are beautiful! I joined the Craving for Cozies reading challenge this year so I think I'll be reading more of Ellery Adams's work. I've only read The Secret, Book, and Scone Society but Pies and Prejudice is really calling my name.
Happy reading!
Those cases for your EPP are just brilliant! The mug rugs are delightful and your sampler quilt will be gorgeous I'm sure! I've rediscovered the joys of embroidery, but have to finish knitting a pair of socks for my husband before finishing the project I started ages ago. Do you listen to audiobooks when you do hand crafts?
ReplyDeleteI'm fond of the quote by Tracy Mcmillan, “Everything works out in the end. if it hasn't worked out yet, then it's not the end.”
Good luck in 2025.
I'm in love with the Bauble Advent embroidery. Thanks for sharing. Yours is coming along nicely.
ReplyDeleteThe Body Keeps Score and the Book lovers Library are both on my tbr lists. I have had The Body ..out from the library a couple of times, but I think I'll have to buy a copy of I ever hope to get through it as I do struggle reading books like this even when I'm really interested in the subject matter. Happy reading.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I sent the Bauble Advent Link to my daughter who has started cross stitching recently, it could be a great project for her at the end of this year when she is more confident.
ReplyDeleteI hope whatever challenges you are facing become less so.
Wishing you a lovely reading week
Nice to see you again! Good luck with all your projects. :)
