Philippians 2:11. Origami Bento Bag

Philippians 2:11
Scripture

Observation
Because of Jesus' obedience to the Father, even unto death, eventually EVERY tongue will acknowledge him as LORD!

Furthermore, this acknowledgement is to the glory of God, our Father!

Application
Woohoo! Hallelujah!
I just love to praise my Jesus!  I do - even if sometimes it's through tears!  I remember when the nursing home called to tell me my mother had passed away.  Now, mind you, she and I were not close at all.  However, for the last year and a half I took care of her.  Just the same, when I got the call, I held Baby B. in my arms and sang a quietly sang praise song as I wept.

The other day, Baby M., who is now seven, asked me, "Ama, why are you so loud?"

I am.
I truly am.
Not obnoxiously loud in social situation, but when a favorite song comes out on KLOVE I sing - loudly!

Here's how I responded:

"You know, I know your mama is quiet and you really love that quietness don't you?"

"Yes I do!"

"Well, sometimes the joy of the LORD so fills my own heart that it bubbles right out of my mouth and I have to sing and dance!"

"Hmmm."

I must admit, I have a terrible singing voice, but thank God that the Word says He loves our praise - and doesn't mention that a requirement is to have a lovely singing voice!

Prayer
LORD, You are amazing!  Thank you for the gift of praising You!  I just love to praise you - even with my voice!  :)

You are good, all the time,
all the time, You are good!
Amen!
Dear Friend,
Turn up the speakers on your electronic device and dance your heart out as you listen to this song!
Come on!
I dare you!
Double dog dare you!
You'll feel so much better!  :)

Dear Friend, this is my truth!

Origami Bento Bag
A friend of mine crochets.
She loves yarn.
We both buy too much yarn.
It's partially my fault.
Another friend and I
taught her how to crochet!

She loves crocheting scarves
for her loved ones.

Her cat ate one that was almost finished!
I said, "Bad cat!"
She said, "Playful cat!  :)"
I loved my friend's attitude.

I made her this bag from Very Shannon
I highly recommend this tutorial.
Don't worry about
the folding part of the tutorial -
just follow the pictures!  :)

If slouchy bags are not your style,
add a bit of interfacing and line it.
Or
use a heavier fabric, like duck or denim.

But give this bag a try!

I did add a snap to it
so that naughty cat can't get into it without exerting more effort!

Oh, by the way,

I gave my friend

Why I Believe? Portable Slow Stitching Bag.

Hello There Everybody!
Thank you for stopping by!

Gerbera, autumn, flower, colorful, Flower bouquet

Why I Believe
Tonight I'll be using music to share why I believe in God.  Much of the story remains untold, but the lyrics reveal my heart to you....
and perhaps you heart as well.
Why?

Well.....
to be honest,
several readers have commented on my faith.
So I want to be transparent.

My faith was like a fickle pickle,
sour,
dependent on circumstances,
and
easily broken.
But not anymore!

Here's a song that shows you me BG - before God.

I still tear up when I hear this song.
But
that was then,
and
this is now!

I know I've posted this link many times, but this song is so powerful!

             Hello!  MY name is
      CHILD OF THE NEWBORN KING!

I finally accepted His healing.
I'm not naive, I know
cancer may return,
nightmares will still haunt my sleep,
my loved ones will go to Heaven,
But
But
But
I can walk into my future
with God
and
know
that it is
gloriously unfolding.

That's my spiritual walk in a very small nutshell.
Wanna walk with me?

Portable Slow Stitching Bag

Here is one of my "go-to" tools for portable crafting.
I made it using a fabulous tutorial from Sew Mama Sew.

I carry miscellaneous items

in this roomy outside pocket.

More storage!

Right now I'm working on making these
motifs for a border for
Baby M2's afghan.
I store them on this large ring!

Don't want to lose my motifs!

Slow Stiching
We got to spend today with my dad as we gave him more Smart Phone lessons!  As we were on the road for roughly 2 1/2 hours, I worked on the binding for these potholders.

They do present a dilemma.
I made them too thick.
My binding was the average width.
I didn't realize my mistake until the binding was sewn on.
I didn't want to be such close friends with my seam ripper.
So, we're making it work, the binding and I.

I think it looks terrible.
So, I'm going to wash it and see how it comes out.
Maybe it'll go to it's intended owner.
Maybe it'll go in the trash.
I don't know.

Any ideas.....please?

Dear Friends, this is my truth.

Philippians 1:20. My Victory Anthem. Quilting News!

Philippians 1:20
Scripture:

Observation:
I am seeing another transitional sentence here. Paul is preparing to share a deep inner and spiritual struggle.  This one obviously weighs heavily on him.

But, instead of jumping ahead, let’s look at how he introduces his struggle in verse 20.

He writes
of eager expectations and hope!
of not being ashamed in any way!
Of having sufficient courage!
So that whether his lives or dies,
Christ will be exalted in his body!

Let’s slow down and simply look at verse 20a

I eagerly
expect and hope
that I
will in no way
be ashamed,
Philippians 1:20a

I’m really curious….
what does he think he may be ashamed of?
The next few words answer the question:

That
he
would
have
sufficient
courage.

Courage:

Paul was facing a possible death sentence for sharing the Gospel.  He certainly needed strength and perseverance
to stay the course!
to face
danger,
fear,
and difficulty!

And he
EAGERLY EXPECTED
that he would have this courage!
Why?
The prayers of the saints!
That’s you and I!

Application
So, when “all” we can do is pray –
that's POWERFUL!
That’s enough!
That’s everything!

Praying QuotesWe many never see the results of our prayers, but that doesn’t matter!

Again:
So, when “all” we can do is pray –
that's POWERFUL!
That’s enough!
That’s everything!

So, my dear friends,

Prayer
Reverses
All
Yuckiness!

I just now came up with that acronym!  Pretty cool, huh?

But it’s true.

Prayer
LORD, You know what is going on in my life, in my family’s lives, in my dear friends and loved one’s lives.  I ask You now in the name of Jesus, to be with each person blessing them, giving them courage and eager expectation and hope.  Let them know that You are in control, that You will work all things together for the good, that their – and our – prayers are effective.
Encourage them, my LORD.
Bless them, my LORD.
Comfort them, my LORD.
Rejoice with them,  my LORD.
Thank You, my LORD.

Victory Song
I will soon be celebrating my one year anniversary of the completion of treatments for Triple Negative Breast Cancer.
For the next year, I believe this song will be my anthem.

Perhaps it will be yours as well.

There is so much more in my heart to share on this topic.....I am eager to share with you,
and just maybe
encourage other cancer patients, survivors and their loved ones!

This week has been so very full of joyful events!

Yesterday was especially fun as I got to spend a whole day with my dad!

We haven't had a WHOLE DAY together since before my diagnosis in November of 2014! We laughed so much that my cheeks hurt!

There hasn't been a whole lot of sewing, but instead a ton of planning.

I have chosen the fabric and background fabric for a quilt I'm making!  And, I have the sashing in mind as well!

And my daughter made these 8 squares for Covered in Love!

Regret. Defeat. Greatest Lesson. Proverb of the Day.

Regret.  Defeat.
I'm not sure if I mentioned that I lived in a city about an hour away during radiation.  After hearing my story, the manager of the Marriot Hotel gave me a significant discount, so I was able to live in the city where I had my daily radiation treatments.  My dear husband drove an extra two hours every day to be with me in the evenings.  Imagine! But, alas, I digress....

While there, I discovered KLOVE, one of the best Christian radio stations I have ever heard!  I would listen to it on the way and back from Texas Oncology. God used this station to speak encouragement, courage and healing to me.   I purchased and created a playlist of the songs that truly ministered to me.  I still listen to them all the time.

Yesterday, the following song spoke deeply to me.  I'm on the journey to healing, to creating a new life for myself.  And it's wonderful.

Perhaps you are living with regret and defeat as the voices in your head.  May I suggest you turn this song up really loud, listen to it several times, dance and go nuts praising God - and go forth living in victory as the "Child of the One True King"!!!

I did that just this morning.
I was freed.
I may forget.
I may push play and repeat.

You were on my mind, too.
You may need to do this.
You can be free.
You may forget.
Push play and repeat.

Greatest Lesson.

Proverb of the Day.
Oh LORD! How I struggle with this!  I'm getting better, but sure could use Your help with this one!  The question, "Does it improve on the silence?", is helping me to keep my tendency to rise to the challenge of a quarrel in check.  Please continue to help me be a person of honor and avoid strife.

Dear Friend, this is my truth!
